I would never hate somebody for his/her nationality.
If I knew a guy who said that terrorism is the best way to solve things, then I would annoy myself.
Once, when I was a kid, I was afraid of putting the garbage out because the trash container outside (don't know the english term now) could explode in my face or something similar.

I personally dislike quite a few Nationalities. But this is mainly because of the governments and what you hear in the media. I have met people from Germany (i do not like Germans as a whole) but the person was a really nice bloke. Again with the French. I don't think that all Palastinians believe that terrorism is the right way. But we don't hear about them. So i think Goodreams is putting that one person into the stereotype that the media have created. Which is kinda wrong but understandable. He is human after all (you are human aren't you?:D) and humans are governed by emotion.
any of that make any sense to anyone?

and our own national prejudices this is a really bad way to form views. One of the most *educational* things I found when newspapers started publishing on the web (about five years ago I guess) was how differently the same issues are portrayed in different countries and how stereotyped news is in any one country (including ones own - regardless of where one comes from). One amazing thing the web does is to allow us to "see how the other guy thinks" (by reading his web site or newpapers etc - or even just neutral ones) which previously has been almost impossible.

With the part about not all Palastinians believe that terrorism is the right way, yes it is true, some belive it is, but where are you defining the difference between terrorism and the ongoing conflicts? now how many Palastines belive that terrorism is the correct way? how many Palastines think fighting is the best way? there is a difference that you have to understand here.
I think the reason Goodreams felt a bit awkward about it was because the guy had the flag displaying to the world, not just because he was Palestinian. I mean, if there's a lot of conflict between two groups of people and someone was actively proclaiming their membership of one of the groups, then it's not a huge assumption to make that they have some issues about the conflict. I'm not saying that you can just surmise a whole load about the person from that, but it's not just a question of being judemental with nothing to go on apart from the nationality.
I don't think it's really enough to make any conclusions about someone, but I'm just trying to explain what I can understand Goodreams' apprehensiveness could be rooted in. Seemed like people were assuming it was just a nationality thing.
I do have some prejudices by the way, basically all down to personal experience with the groups of people involved. I don't go shouting about them though. I try not to take any notice of them.
