I would count up the number of states in America if only I could find a USA map (or flag) that hadn't been burned! :p
Actually, I couldn't even tell you how many counties there are in Britain (let alone states in America). :o

See Simon...now that's funny! :) :p
You can take the piss all you want, we probably deserve it!...just cut the venom! :(
I guess when you live in the might British Empire, you kind of loose count of--....
Oh... they tell me that the sun has set on the Empire. Oh... Oh.... they lost South Africa.. it is the RSA.. ahh... they lost India? They gave back Hong Kong? They still kind of have Australia, what do you mean kinda? They have the Falklands (sp?), some Virgin Isles, Scotland, Wales, and North Ireland.
I'm sorry, Simon... but you don't know how many counties are in England? Wow... do they not go over that in primary school, in maybe a civics class? :P
J/K
North Carolina, the thirteenth state (though the first with a bill of rights), has 100 counties. I could actually probably name a good number of them, at least half.
Well, okay, maybe only a quarter.
All you have to do is make up words and add ex to the end and you'll probably come up with most of the county names.Quote:

No, they don't go over the counties in school (at least they didn't in my school). Besides they change that frequently that it's hard to keep up. e.g. We used to have a county called 'Rutland' that eventually got absorbed by Yorkshire (I think!).
Dude, that's cool. We have cities that absorb other cities, and counties that will yeild some land as a neighboring county's city encroaches, but the 100 counties North Carolina has are the 100 it had when it was a colony.
I don't know about the other 50 states. The idea behind the union was that each state was to be allowed to do what ever it wanted within its own borders.
Neither. I'm nearer West Worthing but as nobody apart from the people who live here have heard of East Preston, I said Worthing.Quote:

...........have no problems telling a Canadian from a seppo, might be the politeness thing, or Canadians don't chew gum all day, or Canadians aren't as *ahem* out going, or Canadians are very civilised in their use of English, or Canadians produce the best maple syrup in the world, or Canadians actually eat something resembling food. Don't know maybe a combination of the above.

They still have Australia!!
Yippee. I finally figured out why we stayed a part of the British Empire so we could still beat you's at the Commonwealth Games.
Didn't canada get blown up?
Or saw it in a film about South Park!

Apparently no one else bothered putting up a bid, so bleak city gets the games. Wonder where Manchester is when you really need them.

This is a true story: There is a hotel in Melbourne City that welcomes ambassadors & high authority people from all over the world. Outside the hotel are flags from 10 major countries and I swear I observed the American one pole-bent and half-ripped !!!
:D
I wouldn't know why you would want to takeover England for...? What's there to takeover..?Quote:
