Nope... it was freddieB... he is one of the developers of vBulletin... I'm tired of nobody being able to answer my questions, you go now H.
Okiedoke I'll give it a go. Not much I can think of though, so this will have to do:
Which self-proclaimed giant of the philosophical world did I spend most of last year arguing with on VB-W?
Gen-X
Okay that was a little easy perhaps
Who runs VB Garage?
Serge Dymkov
Aka?
Serge ?
Come on!! why is there an Aka? couldn't you tell from the first name...... *KICK*..... that's what you get for saying I don't have a life H..... ;)
Hehe :D Well I'm trying to get someone other than Dennis to answer
Okay this should be a little harder.
Which forum member, who used to be regularly involved in the arguments involving Gen-X and I, usually on Gen-X's side, has since disappeared?
Heck...the search function didn't work.. :(
GEN-X himself is still missing !
Good thing it doesn't work too, or else this would be far too easy
Very true that Gen-X himself is missing, but I'm not talking about him.
Kovan ??
No..it's Iain17
and the clue is from this thread
http://forums.vb-world.net/showthrea...threadid=26450
No, he hadn't turned up by this point.
Bonus points go to anyone who can tell me (without looking it up) who said to Gen-X "I bent you over and violated you with my long shaft of truth". And no it wasn't me ;)
Hey! Stop trawling through old threads, this is a test of memory not your ability to find a needle in a haystack.
When I said 'he hadn't turned up by this point' I meant Kovan btw, not Iain17.
The point is I am Relatively new to this forum in 2000
so ...I think i never even met Gen-x in a Post in my time.
I Never saw you both in one post !
By the way..happy news..
Forum Search is working ! :D
And who else, apart from Gen-X and Kovan, got involved in many semi-violent religious threads?
Answers on a post(card) :)
wild guess
Honeybee?
IT WAS ME!!!!
Bwaa Haa Haa Haa Haa Haa.
Well the guy I was thinking of, who hasn't posted now since around August, was dvst8. He just kind of turned up, argued a lot (he argued pretty well too, seemed a sensible kind of bloke), and then left.
Bonus points are still available :)
MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHATM
Both good answers...but not quite the one I'm looking for...he still posts, but not much in Chit Chat :)
Virtually VB did a lot as well didn't he.
Another good bit of Trivia for you.
How did all the religious arguments start?
How did they end?
Not quite sure how they started, usually with evolution or something, but they always ended with the thread being locked :D
Parksie - jdavison was quite often involved.
The big arguments started with a thread about whether artificial intelligence built by humans could ever be more intelligent than human intelligence. Also there were big arguments about Darwinian evolution vs other theories. Not sure which came first out of Evolution and AI, but I remember one thread that was just called "Evolution and AI". The religious arguments started with a thread by Kedaman about proof of God's existance, I think it was something to do with Kedaman's uncle.
Anyway since noone's grabbed the bonus points either I guess I'll give the answer.
The person with the immortal quote that will stick in my mind foreverwas none other than mikeycorn, who has now also disappeared into the ether.Quote:

Another memorable quote was from Gen-X:when he was trying to prove that evolution happened through some procedural process, not through mutations. That one gave me a few laughs ;)Quote:
Why do you think they call it genetic code?
Correct :)Quote:

That was the guy, why did I get him comnfused with VVB?
You're all rightish about the way it started, nobody remembers how it finished though.
I don't think it ever did finish... it just got kind of left for an indeterminate length of time.
If i remember correctly, Gen-X started the religious arguments when i mentioned AI in the first place.
