I need to go back to my happy thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate all of the slang people on aol use...unfortunatly I'm on aol :(
The ClanoftheRustySpoon are every where!! MWAHAHA!
aol sux. i just have aim cuase all my friends have it.
I WAS DL MP3S ON NAPSTER AND MSN KEEPS KICKING ME OFF. MSN SUX!!!!! AND WHATS REALLY ANNOYING IS THIERS A COMPUTER LIKE 30FT AWAY W/ CABLE!!!! i wish i had networking tools, we got the cards and the hub.
Common sense would be to download the MP3s on the computer with cable, then use a CDR/W or a Zip disk to transfer the files.
the computer w/ cable is behind the IBM firewall and napster dosent work on it. and my computer has the buner.
we dont have any drives that u can move easly. built in. im going to build a network this weekend. :D
There are ways to get round firewalls from inside, you just need the username/password.
*there's that IBM thing again*
If these computers are in your house, can't you just ask your parents to disable the firewall for a few minutes?
it wasnt working yesterday. and we installed cable yesterday. and we got all the stuff in the mail and r user name and pass didnt come. :( so we r still waiting for it.
remember the guy i told u ppl about how told me that M$ was gona kill vb? well yesterday he told me they wherent going to shut down napster. AND HE WAS RIGHT!!! im dling right now. u all told me napster was gona be shut down.
What? What on earth are you on about?
IBM just did that to be be securtiy reasons!!!!
we just got cable yesterday. i mean the stuff came yesterday. and remember the m$ is going to kill vb post? thats what the thing about the guy came from. i got that info from the guy.
Riiiight....
I never said MS was going to kill VB, but I did say napster wasn't going to be shutdown today. So, who's right, me or your friend?
There is NO REASON why MS would kill VB. They are making A LOT of money from it.
i remember someone from here said that. but the us courts did say they where gona shut napster down. so y is it still working??? i think that KoRn tells fans to dl on napster, no sure. is that y it works??? im dling KoRn.
that is not why it works, right now I am downloading metallica.
The lawsuit is not over yet! The judges tried to shut them down without a trial.
Here..........this may help you make INFORMED converstion.
http://cnn.looksmart.com/r_search?l&...h=0&qt=napster
No, KoRn were against Napster, Bizkit were for it.... oh woe is me, who to side with
Actually, KoRn are pretty good, mostly at least.
I'm not sure if that was aimed towards me Katie, I hope not :p, but I seem to remember reading the judges made a descision without a trial. I have no clue where I thought I remembered that from, but here is a little information about the lawsuit:

Here's even more information:

Korn is infinitely better than Limp Bizkit!!!!!!!!
Here is another site worth looking at Nuke...read and then comment...in that order please.
http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/napster/
I think they both suck!
a few of korn's songs are Ok, but most others I've heard are crap.
lumpy biscuit is absolute **** though.
I'm not a big fan of either, I prefer metally stuff.
I like Rock & Roll, Psychedelic Rock, Alternative Rock, Soft Rock, Country, Metal, Etc.
But I absolutely can not stand any type of rap
First, they are trying to shut Napster down because in the courts eyes they are stealing, so they issued an injunction to stop that until they have a trial. Its like I am stealing a $1000 for you a day, every day, so you take me to court to try and stop me and maybe get some of your money back. But my stance is that what I am doing is fair and you owe me the money. So what you rather do, have me continue to steal from you everyday till the end of the trail, or get an injunction to stop till the end of the trail. That the basic thought behind them trying to stop them now before the trial.
Second, Napster is trying to figure out a way to stop pirated MP3s, which is what the injunction says they have to stop, and keep their service up and running (Yeah Right, Good Luck With That). They have a certian amount of time to either comply with the injunction or have the government do it for them. I forget how long that is, it could be today, tomorrow, next week, next year, I dont remember. I thought they would shut their service down and make repairs to it then bring it back online. Guess not.
Third, they released a new version of Napster yesterday 9.6. Why they did that I dont know but I can only guess that it has something to do with them trying to end pirated MP3s on their service. We shall see.
Fourth, Limp is the one supporting Napster. When Limp had their free tour it was sponsored by Napster. Plus they have said all along they support the new way of getting their music to there fans.
Fifth, Limp is better than Korn hands down. Korns last album ate my NUTZ. Plus Megadeth is better than anyone, and everyone.
That's my 2 cents
Megadeth is definitely, hands down, better than Korn or Limp....I agree with you there!
Here's today's CNN story on Napster...

Better than anyone, and everyone, besides Green Day.
Good pull, Dennis!
Megadeth have some good tracks to their name, but I don't listen to much of it... I love the version of the Duke Nukem theme tune they did though ;)
this is what i heard. is that if the us says napster has to shut down it aint going to happen. cause thier in germany the us cannt tell germany what to do.
KoRn made LiMp BiZkIt. KoRn liked LiMp BiZkIt so they told thier producers and evenually LiMp BiZkIt got to make a cd and made alot of money.
denniswrenn: You have to be joking. Greenday!? Come on their recent CD stinks like my unwiped a$$. I will admit I like alot of their older songs. But come on Greenday better the Megadeth, no way. Lay off the crank.
Nukem: True the US cant tell Germany what to do, but the servers Napster uses are in the US. With out them Napster as it is today will not function. Plus if they were to open up shop in a new Country do think that the RIAA would not sue them in that country as well?
This is true. But the fact is, that Limp is a better band than KoRn, I can say that without any problems, but here are some facts. Limp's first CD, 3 dollar bill, sold 3x as many copies as KoRn's first CD. Limp's next 2 CDs out sold all of the KoRn CDs (4 of them) together, by an amount that I think was 1.5 times more.Quote:

Sure popularity and sales doesnt mean a band is good. Look at the Back Street Boys, or 'Nsync they suck so bad it hurts and they have sold 2-3X more CDs than Limp. But I would choose to see in concert, or buy CDs of Limp any day over KoRn.
Yeah the latest Green Day album isn't as good as the others, but it's actually not too bad if you listen to it a few times and forget what you're used to from Green Day. It's not very punky which is I think what causes a problem - it's just not what you expect. Still, the other albums are better.
I have to say I prefer Green Day to Megadeth also. Just personal preference. I listen to a lot of stuff though, thanks to Napster ;)
im on napster now. and if ur makeing a $h!t load of money on something i think they'll move severs to another contry.
i started when i was 8, and didnt want to buy cds. so i looked threw out the web, and found both limp cds on a site. thats how i started. then audiofind.com then napster.
I would ask what you're talking about, but then you'd try and tell me.
if napster is outlawed here, they can move to a diffrent contry. and still have the same amout of users.
