do you have a cd burner?
Ok you have two choices: Burn a CD Or Create a Floppy. I suggest a CD. Download the ISO.Zip from the site and burn the ISO to a disk. DVDshrink is a good program for burning ISO's: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/vi...dvd_shrink.cfm
Any Joy Leroy?
Sorry, was a whole STAFF meeting yesterday, it over run by 30 mins, and I found out AT the end, that NONE of it seemed to effect ME!  :eek2:
Anyway, I use Nero buring ROM. I will do this when I get a spare moment, its hectic in here at the moment, but thanks for all this help guys and gals ;)
Cool, remember memtest needs to run for a few hours to be effective.
I am of the opinion that the restart isn't heat related. If it were heat related the pc would either freeze of shut itself off, but more than likely freeze. I'm thinking either mem, proc, or mobo. Try running memtest for 24 hours, that should be plenty of time. If memtest passes all of those tests, then we know it's probably not memory. You said you disabled the automatic restart option. There's a program out there called burn-in test. Very simple, i know. LOL
The program overloads the system in an attempt to make it crash - I'd run that program and try to make it blue screen. With the automatic restart option off you will notice that an error message will come up if you can get it to blue screen. If you can get the message, we can all help you further.
lol... so you WANT my computer to crash, what is this world coming to!? lol okay, well I will do all of these things on friday, and leave my PC Running over the weekend, I will update you all on monday.
Oh, and in my experience a PC just turning itself off can be heat related. Infact alot of the pc's I know that just do a hard reboot are heat related.
But I do know mine is running cool.
How did you find that out?
How did I find what out?
Well, I'm curious where you found that awesome greek thingy, but that's besides the point.
How do you know your system is cool enough to not be overheating?
Because if I am able to put my hand ANYWHERE on the mobo, harddrive, ram, graphics card, it feel that it is not HOT and only warm, then I am pretty sure it is okay.
That greeky thingy ;) FOr me to know and for you to find out!
What about the processor heatsink? That's the most crucial and hottest part. It should at least be getting very warm to the touch even with a good cooling system (except liquid cooling)
And how will I find out about that greek thingy unless you don't tell me eh?
Google.
And the heatsink is fine, nothing out of the norm.
So how did the test go?
