i think if u write ur program in c++ they cannt steal the code.(im not sure) and if its a really big program i dont think thier gona be makeing it.
They are developers, they use Linux because they expect it to all be free, and they would make the program because they enjoy it. Some other open-source enthusiast has probably mae a version already anyway.

and i used hotmail before m$ bought it. it looks pretty much the same, and the servas hasnt gotten any better.
