Re: VB6 App For Vista Use

Maybe if you posted your code it would be easier to answer then to guess what it is doing as I cant cover all aspects of the Vista changes in a thread, let alone a single article.
Well, this problem is a simulation, or example of a simple app. The code would simply be to ADD 2 numbers - given reference to the textboxes. That is all. The print routine again is very simple - let's a Printform. My reasoning here is that basicall the controls are *simple*. This can then be extrapolated to a larger project, with the same simplicity. It can have many controls and hundreds of lines of code, but act in the same way. Basically with the same validations and restrictions. So I used this simple model, to see if *it* will run in vista *neatly* as one article puts it............

If it runs fine then whats the problem(s)?
That is what I am trying to find out? The model I presented will run OK in XP, but will it run in Vista *neatly*??? The extrapolation of the same configuration, given the same restrictions should do the same - given the same simplicity. So basically, will my model run in Vista *neatly*??? Will my model print out in Vista *neatly*???? - This of course will depend on what I do with my PDW, which took a while to confirm, but assuming I do as I was instructed, then will this SETUP.exe produce a set of files + Cab that will deploy and run *neatly* in Vista???? This is what I have been trying to establish since my first posting. Thank you very kindly for a *direct* answer that will let me *understand* this...............

Bob, I am not quite sure why Rob and Si and still helping you, maybe they are both nicer than me. These posts have left me gob-smacked which is why I felt I had to reply. You a demonstrating a diabolical attitude, you have been rude to other members and you have made unfounded accusations that border on deformation of character.
Here's my advice. If you want to be 99% sure your application works in Vista then I suggest you hire someone, vet them to your liking, give them the code and the executables and instruct them to carry out extensive black / white box testing on your application. Oh and pay them lots of money; they'll need it afterward.
If you are posting in this forum you a seeking help. The definition of help from dictionary.com is:

You seem to misunderstand here. Did I say anything about 99 % sure of anything? Most certainly not. No one can provide that level of certainty, even if they were paid. Why utilizing chance alone would only be within 5% anyways. I provived a *simple* model and asked if THIS MODEL would operate on Vista given the FAQ I was asked to read and understand. So within the parameters of that model and those FAQ, my question is valid. I certainly did not attempt to place a level of certainty on the project as you seemed to indicate.......

I think all that can be said here has been. Thread closed.
