I have to laugh my other half has just taken up a different brand. Guess what they are called wait for it............ Vogue...... can you belive it!
Yes.
I do not see anything strange about the name: "Vogue".
Its not the name its the packet and the marketing, they are boing marketed as an accessory!
Two packs a day for roughly 8 years - ages 15 through 23. I vowed to quit once prices hit US$1.00/pack, but it took considerably more motivation than that...
A strikingly beautiful girl moved into my building. She was very friendly and I talked to her quite a bit, but she would never even agree to meet me for a cup of coffee let alone a romantic dinner. She lived alone with no boyfriends hanging around so one day I asked her why she wouldn't go out with me. "You're a smoker." she said.
That was it - all the motivation I needed. At 7:55 PM Wednesday, March 28, 1990 I lit my last cigarette. Tossed the last four smokes in the pack in a garbage can.
Of course the hot girl STILL would not go out with me, but at least I quit right?

wheres the "only if i've been set on fire by a group of nonsmoking racist facist pigs who want to take away my last bastion of freedom" entry???
You suck.
yet another fine diatribe regarding the health effects of smoking. while i dont smoke personally, i worry more about the erosion of rights of the common man.
after all, eat right stay fit die @ 33 like jim fixx...
smoke like your on fire drink like your trying to put it out and die at 86 like grandpa.

If smoking hurt only the smoker, I'd agree. However, smoking hurts pretty much everybody on a whole variety of levels. If the whole point is a nicotine fix, just start chewing. That removes the second hand smoke issues, it removes the smoking break issues, and it removes some of the sick day issues (by replacing one set of health risks with a different set).Quote:

On the other hand, perhaps that sun burn you got back when you were twelve has caused some damage that will result in a terminal case of melanoma that will be discovered on your arm next month.
Smoking is only harmful statistically. Your actual experience may vary.

Smoked from the age of 11 to 25, and was on 20-30 Benson & Hedges at the time I stopped... many, many years ago.
I was about 2 packs a day. Went cold turkey about 18 years ago now.
@ Mendhak, i agree with ya there, even just having it in your hand! If it was just nicotene the patches would have a higher quit rate! As for second hand smoke, if were going to get purist about this we may ban cars as well!

You should be asking how hot you can make the gravy.
First things first.
This is true, and I think there are even more varieties of addictions to cigarettes.Quote:

Not to forget the fellow smokers you often meet when going on a smoke break. :afrog:
There ought to be a website that allows you to simulate smoke breaks. You can login for a few minutes, and it shows an avatar or a character similar to you standing outside an office building and smoking next to every other smoker logged in at that moment. We can call it "Second Hand", and that's a great name because it can easily be misconstrued for something else.
The only difficulties with this idea is that it's stupid and people might end up quitting just to do it online.
You could even have a buddy list! I remember reading alan carr's book and thinking what a load of nonsense, he was saying you cant possible like choking yourself, whats so strange about that. How many rockers have died against a door with a rope around their neck and there bits out!Quote:
