Nonononononono.... I mean.. if I were t marry my current SO.
She has 2 brothers, 9 aunts and uncles (or more), plus
all her cousins, grandparnets, people married into the
family, etc... so her family is quite huge.
That's how I derived my figures... purely unscientific
though. :)

jethro - some of those places are gorgeous, and just becuase there are no kangaroo's to play nursy with, does'nt mean you should nock it ;)
We are only inviting 150 people to the ceremony and the reception meal because the church will only hold 150 people, but we are following the meal with a dance at a local hotel, and there will probably be about 300 at that. We have a lot of friends that are only going to come to the dance.

I think that you should propose on her graduation if she is going to school, or if she's not, then propose the night before your graduation so that you have something else to announce to your family on graduation day. Just propose in a more unique way than my fiance did. He put my ring under a pillow, expecting me to find it when I got into bed. Well, I didn't, so he told me that the tooth fairy had left me something under my pillow. I was hoping for something a little more exciting and romantic.

Under your pillow eh? I think that is quite sweet. Sadly, I can't even remember where I proposed. Mind you, my wife doesn't remember our first meeting. (She's also been trying to blank a few other meetings from her mind since, as well<sigh>)
Only 300 - so you aren't inviting ALL your VB-World buddies then...
Hope we at least get some cake!
BTW Kovan, If you are going to propose publicly, make damn sure you know what she is going to say...

You should be thankful you got that much! My husband (we'll be married 20 years next October) proposed to me after a rather intense love-making session by saying..."I'd better marry you before I knock you up"...I got really upset (naturally) and he apologized all over the place but I never really got another proposal. He just took me out the next day to look at wedding rings. I kept expecting that he would someday do it properly (propose, that is) but it has never happened.Quote:

Well as I can't remember proposing, I MAY have had a bad experience - in fact, it could have been so bad that I am suffering selective amnesia...
No bad public experiences when proposing, but a few restaurant scenes with girlfriends in my past life...
Katie, your husband just showed how considerate he was - it could have been - "Well, I've probably knocked so I suppose your Dad will want us to get hitched<sigh>". Just be thankful for the considerate way in which he spared your feelings...

Ok, ok. So we men can be a little insensitive at times (half of the guys seeing that post are thinking "Well if it was me I would have just fallen asleep!").
Talking of insensitive, I can never remember the date of our Wedding anniversary. I have to have a present ready by 15th August, ready to produce when Denise gives me one (a present, Ian!!!). I think it is the 18th, but it could be the 16th/17th - definitely August though. 6 years next time.

I don't think you should propose in public at all. I think it's a personal thing between two people, but that is my thoughts. Plus, if you don't get the answer you wanted, it could be extremely embarrasing. My fiance was going to take me up in a hot air balloon to propose, but he had already told all of his relatives that he was going to propose, so he said that he needed to ask me before someone congratulated me.

The problem is that when i'm talking, I alway's leave myself wide open for things like that, and although I mean it a completly innocent way, people manage to twist them so easily

How about
Nepal (Trek from Pokora north through the rice field up the Annapurna vally at Jomsom then up into Tibet) - then fly or drive down to Chitwan and ride elephants through the Tiger reserve.
OR
Chamonix, The English Lake District, Crete, Tobago, Madeira (There are great honeymoon things to do in all of these places if you ever get to go outside!)

Actually, the reference to the English Lake District (which is fantastic) reminds me that we went on honeymoon to the Italian Lakes (Malcesine on Lake Garda) and it was fabulous. I would highly recommend that area.

My parent go to the Italian Lakes quite often but say that they are very noisy (Vespas I think!). Regarding Nepal I just came across this in todays newspaper
