I still need to fill in all the blanks though.

Mine showed finally after about an hour or maybe it was just my eyes? Oh well at least it posted finally. :D
Should I use my Gangsta Yoda avatar or my smilie?
Ps, :thumb:s on the published articles. :)
Actually, still MVP, but that shouldn't change dinner habits ;)Quote:

Congratulations everyone that is receiving MVP awards. I've been pushing hard since I was given management of this forum, and it is great to see a larger number of people get the awards here. I know people from Microsoft review this site on a regular basis (consider that as you are posting in appropriate things in chit chat).
As an FYI to those that don't know, The Microsoft MVP is an award given for what a person has done over the prior year. It is an award that comes with no expectations for the coming year and no strings. It is also a designation that only lasts for a year, so next year you'll either get the award again - or you won't. I was just renewed for the third year (whoo hoo!).
Additionally, the award is done based on a topic area. For example, I'm a Microsoft MVP within the Visual C++ area. I'll speculate that most of the people here on VBF are for VB 6 or Visual Developer - VB.NET.
A note to those that got the MVP award -- not all MVPs get the option of the Team Suite MSDN subscription. Only the techie ones. As such, in my opinion, it is the product to latch onto if you have that option.
Again, congratulations to those receiving the award! Continue the great work here on the forums and hopefully you'll continue to be an MVP for years to come! For those that didn't get nominated or awarded, you can note that Microsoft gives out new awards quarterly.
Brad!
I dont know if he got one allready but hopfully out of people on this site who so far arn't MVPs I would like to see John Mcilhinney rewarded for his work in the VB.Net forum next time round.
Well done to all.
Hello all,
I should introduce myself, my name is Ed Hickey and I am the mysterious guy at Microsoft who is responsible for Visual Basic MVPs in the US. I nominate a great many of the people who end up getting awarded, and do a lot of work in reviewing those who get the award (and those who don't, as well). Brad's description is very good, it is simply a "thank you" for the effort you put in last year, and does not carry any strings or guarantees that you will be awarded again next year.
If you have any questions about the award, or know of someone who should be nominated, feel free to drop me a line (edhickey). As I have to look at the ENTIRE VB community each quarter (all the newsgroups, websites, forums, conferences, User Groups, authors and articles), I can use some help. You know who the MVPs are here, if you see someone of similar caliber, let me know. I can't guarantee that the nominee will get awarded, but I certainly can't award someone who I don't know about!
Cheers,
Ed
Congratulations to all of you who became MVP's :D
It's nice to see some of the 'stars' of this site get the recognition they deserve, and for those who deserve it but didn't get it this time I'm sure your turn will come. :thumb:
edit: thanks for that Ed, I'm sure you'll get a few hints from various members here ;)
Ask me in April. :afrog:Quote:

Only until March 30th. After which you have to added "April Fool!" at the end of your sentence.
Ed bravely posts in the chit chat forum... :DQuote:

Congratulations to all, even to Rhino even though we don't get well along all the time :)
Nice to see even those who don't post a ton of messages can get nominated (seeing Merrion has less than 1000 messages). Shows it isn't only based on the number of messages written (RobDog and dglienna... :D).
I can't possibly get nominated because I have too much to do with Firefox ;)
Mucho gracias, Merri!
Come on, your the speed guy, you would of thought that you would have been nominated... lol.Quote:

Haha, I love it. I did a search of the new awardees (and renewed) to see how many of you gave thanks to VBF or atleast mentioned the site in your profile.Quote:

So would you guys provide a link for your MVP Profiles? :)

Yes, I'm now a "MVGY" :thumb:
My profile is up but not complete yet either. :(
Same here. Isn't that an odd size for a picture? I was thinking of adding one, except that I'd have to do some stretch/skew on any image that I had. I can't even add my dglienna logo without some work. Adding a blurb about vbf doesn't seem like a bad idea.
Congratulations to all of this year's MVP's :)
Great to see some of the board's finest rewarded for all their hard work!
I lucked out with my pic.... just happened to crop it so that it was twice the size it needed to be (sheer coincidence and dumb luck)... resized to 50% and it was the perfect size.
It's not the best pic of me... but it'll do.

Nice TG! :thumb: You landed a spot right next to the legendary Dan Appleman! :afrog:
I didn't get the mail about me becomming an MVP....can someone please resend the mail?
Sorry, they sent it to [email protected]
We tried telling them it was the other guy... but ohhh no...
Well **** happens...and then you die...
Perhaps you have marked it as spam before?... :(Quote:
