To be honest...the background is the biggest problem...it is really close to cayen, one of the 16 standard colours on a computer, and it is screaming. The same with magent and any colour that is close up to one of the corners of a RGB box...

I agree with David on the black shading for the copywrite line. It does mess it up and make hard to read.
Granted, only 1 in 50 ever bother to really look at a Splash screen, but that 1 that does should be impressed.
Personaly, I'd make the logo and all text blue (solid w/o gradients), drop the background in favor of white and remove the outlining on the copyright lettering.
It's almost to the point of being too much going on with all the different gradients.

It is only going to be on the screen for a matter of seconds so it would seem that you would need stuff going on to catch the eye (although that belief may, indeed, be why I'm a programmer and not a graphical designer :D )Quote:

Precisely my point...it won't be there long enough for someone to "study".Quote:

For something that's only there for 5 seconds (which does seem like a long time to some users)... you're putting in (in my opinion) way too much time, thought and effort into it.Quote:

So, any changes in the splash screen since the last picture?
i am still trying to come up with something decent and having a hard time of it, hehe. this is what i have so far.Quote:

Okay, I have been working hard on the splash screen and this is the most current...
PErsonaly, I think it's the most readable, clearest one yet. ... I'd lose the fuzzy shaowing on the copyright though... it's still tough to read.

Much better. Try changing the text color to something more contrasting.
still working on that :)Quote:

I dont have any font quite like that but I will try and come up with a mock-up of some better colours (IMO :))
You could try black, white, or yellow text. ;)
OK, this is nothing like the quality of yours but shows what I think you need. More contrast and less spacing between the main text.
Apologies for murdering your circles :)
Thats a nice one PG. :D
looks good. will do that. which font did you use? I darkened the text and redid the copyrightQuote:

Without any shadowing at all to the copyright text i think it looks really boring boring, try using a very thin (1-2px?) _solid_ outline for the C-text, no glow just an outline :)
I dont think u should have the 2nd line of text too much to the right of the 1st try to put either the 2nd more to the left, or the 1st more the right. (Well I have no idea if it'll make the splash better, just some opinions, try it out ^^)
Btw, try coloring everything red, I love red :p

The gradient is outwards from the bottom cloud circle thing.
