I never really understood the value of the post counts. If someone could give me a very logical answer as to their value, my opinion might be swayed; but personally, I think the post count should be removed.

You just have to determine user's level by following their answers and solutions to problems. Also, there might be errors in knowledge (I had a black day yesterday or the day before, almost half of my answers didn't hit exactly in the point). The knowledge level varies: for example, I know about nothing about databases, but when it comes to speed optimization, I have lots to say.
