I don't understand the mentality of this forum. We are told not to post in specific places and redirected to "Chit Chat"
So we go to chit chat to be bombarded by a couple of morons who seem to think they can say anything (per vb forum rules)
Then we get a mod who posts a topic in Chit Chat...then goes on to say that he / she would like to stay on topic...
Is it me or is this some screwed up logic????
Let's be real no one is going / should get into any trouble posting in a forum that maybe they shouldn't have...if so I did not see the address bar read: "www.analforums.com"

I think you're overreacting but with hindsight I agree that it wasn't a good idea for me to post something in Chit Chat and then ask people to stay on topic. As I saw it there were three places I could post it; Forum Feedback, General VB and Chit Chat. I didn't post the poll in Forum Feedback because I didn't think it would get enough exposure and trying to obey the rules I didn't post it in General VB since obviously it's not a VB question. That left me with Chit Chat and I guess I was hoping for more cooperation than I got. I should have known better.Quote:

Didn't mean it in such a way, I'm just trying to say that a lot of us get so angry about posting in the wrong places, I mean we make an issue of it..then we start pounding on the guy for doing it.
Then the user posts in the correct forum, and people still pound him with irrelevant topics. So to keep seeing posts that appear in forums that might have not exactly fit the forum subject I believe is no big deal :p ... but then to enforce it and at the same time abuse it wrongly is another thing.
Didn't mean it to hit directly to you, it's a general thing I see in the forums.

Even though the thread is in ChitChat doesn't mean that it can't be serious and stay on track. I agree with MartinLiss on this.

There is no VBForum rule that says "you can say anything".

I've closed this poll. The "Leave them as they are" choice had the largest number of votes, and including those who didn't care either way, over 60% of the votes were happy with the way things are now. Based on those results we will be leaving the forum listings un-expanded.
