Just wondering...was looking throug my DX set up on the machine ans saw there was a check box for dual monitoring debug....have you look at that? Tested it? Was that what you tried but didn't work?

Which DirectX is that? As you saw, the problem went away, but I don't recall ever encountering the screens you are showing.
At controll pannel there is a DirectX icon. Click on it. Then you will have up a new screen Click the DirectDraw tab, then click the Advanced settings....Havn't tested it yet. But worth a shot.
PS...I am using DirectX8.1 but I also have DirectX 7 SDK installed, but all the runtime files are DX8.1....
