Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity
But if stupid people think they're intelligent, isn't that artificial?
Hehehehehe, taht sounds like a signature quote ;)
Anyway, I've looked on www.sentryctf.com and found that most posts there where made by one called Matt. Could this be our person? Using the emails: [email protected] and [email protected] ???
Maybe... The site isn't exactly 'official' looking, and when loading the domain, I say some reference to www.allourstuff.net/sentry which leads to the same page... So the domain is just a redirect domain...
Well I don't know where I'm heading with this, maybe to indentify our 'Intelligent person'...
I think more like people who are made to believe their are intelligent is artificial ;)Quote:

Seems there has been a search before, of course :bigyello:
Uploading a Trojan/virus is about the worst violation of an acceptable usage policy that you can do.
SnakeMaker and his IP are now banned. If anyone finds copies of his executable or source code still linked to a message, please let a moderator or I know and we will remove it. I was going to delete his posts from the forum; however, I wanted to leave his admitance of posting a virus (and how to fix it) so that hotmail, gomez, and other sites/businesses would be able to confirm that he posted such a program.
Brad
I support this decision.... a rule's a rule, I guess.
I've asked this in chit chat, but I'll ask here as well:
How does hotmail figure into this?
Jep, totally agree... :)Quote:

You mean with "hotmail, gomez, and other sites/businesses would be able to confirm that he posted such a program." that these sites/businesses can see and check here that he indeed posted such a thing?
This is criminal behaviour; particularly in the UK 'obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception' as well as other offences.
The moderators should report the guy who posted this to the police (who should subsequently lock him up)
This is wholly unacceptable even from someone who's clearly a ****ing idiot.
The moderators should also realise that failure to report a criminal offence is also a criminal offense.

I'm not a "HOSTILE" person, Im a pretty well calm kid... I didnt know you all, I just expected to go spam the link at every forum that I could, its not like I expect to stay here "On this name" next time i come back, I will be a "Different person"... you all wont even know that its me so just calm down....
There are hackers and crackers in the world that are good. You have to respect those that truly know what they are doing. Most people, however, don't realize just how much of a trail they leave when they post on the internet -- or when they simply visit sites. For example, people register or they send you to another site. In the case of SnakeMaker, he not only gives one site address, but he associates himself to two. He also has a hotmail account that he registered for. Finally, he is using a machine that has an IP address. These are all little indicators of who he/she is and where he/she came from. Some of these can have fake information, but the underlying IPs and other information all adds up to point at the originator......
When posting something like a virus or even spam, you quickly get everyone against you. I've even had people spam forums going through stealth sites believing that will protect them. Ironically, stealth sites hate spamming as much as everyone else. They will just as quickly lock down an IP address and such for such offenses as any other site.
I guess in all my rambling what I am saying is, creating a virus -- even simple -- can result in large fines and jail time. If you aren't prepared to pay the cost -- in money or your freedom -- then don't do it -- and if you are foolish enough to do it, don't brag about it or say you did it. That is called a confession when reviewed by the authorities.... At least maintain plausable deniability....
So in keeping with this thread, let's call "artificial intelligence" the belief that you are annoymous because you can give yourself a different name.....
signed,
Bob...... (I used a different name so you wouldn't know who I am..... ;))
Can't fool me. You're Brad Jones.
I know you are not Brad Jones because he would never have a banner threatening harm to a kitten.... (a dog or puppy maybe, but not a kitten....)Quote:

Out of interest...SnakeyBoy was trying to upload the gomez client app to people PCs. I'm trying to work out why...and I have a theory.
When you register for Gomez you can specify another user who brought Gomez to your attention and that user would get $1 for every user who is "accepted" onto their payroll.
If the Update code that was being uploaded installed the gomez client, then automatically registered you online and automatically sent information saying that SnakeyBoy had referred you, then he could have stood to make quite a bit of cash. You see where I'm coming from with this?
SnakeBoy already stated that he made cash from Gomez, which most users don't, as after your trial period they reject your application on grounds that you don't use the internet as much as they want, or something similar.
If this is the case then this would amount to fraud or deception would it not? Would it be possible for a mod, or someone else who is official with VBF to have a word with the gomez crew as I feel they would be very interested in what has gone on. They are a legit company and I'm sure they would not want their software being "illegally" downloaded onto peoples PC for a single users financial gain...or is that taking the witch hunt a bridge to far
yrwyddfa, oh that did make me laugh...Hahahahaha :DQuote:

Hes still got a copy of it in a folder called 'gome'. ;)
Hahaha...if you go to the Gome folder then you can see the EXE, plus the winsock controls :D Hahahaha...that sends alarm bells ringing straight away, why would a snake game require WinSock?
He could have at least used the cSocket class in his project so there was no need to ship the Winsock stuff with his app...Muppet.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooofa
Haha, no joke... Or at least use the iNet control, something all windows computers are sure to have installed and registered.
cSocket class would be better though.
It's fun to watch retarded kids thump themselves in the head by making horrible viruses.
 Hes not that dumb. It was so that you could access the 'online scoreboard'
I need to download and check this stuff out, if it has online scoreboards and what not, that could be fun to play with.:)
Someone care to email me the source zip to this? [email protected]
Thanks :D
The game doesn't have an online score board. This was a ploy so people wouldn't question why the application required winsock.
here's the sipped code. I have removed the offending lines of code that tried to download and install the update.exe from the web. The offending function is called CheckForUpdates, in the module ModBrain, but the code inside this has been disabled.
The code for this game is...errr...how to put it politely...errr...crap.
Woka
That's nice, woka.Quote:

OW COOL!! Multiplayer snake!!!! :) Wheehaaa!!!
By the way, this isn't a virus, it's not even a worm. It's just a stupid pice of code that's supposed to fool others and mislead... I have never seen a virus created in visual basic, or even a worm. Would be cool, a antivirus detected a visual basic virus, but fortunately it didn't work because it wasn't installed so it cound't run without the right DLL's ;)
