When packaging up all of these dll files to view crystal reports from an application, the registering can be done through your setup file, right? when it is installed with my application, it will be registerd through that installation, correct? And secondly, how many damn dll's are there to install with the program? CR could have made this easier instead of being so damn greedy!

There is a way to view Flash files and all someone has to have is Flash Player on their machines. You use the Resources and package it with yourprogram. Could you not do the same thing with CR, and just have the viewer installed with your application. I am just asking, because it seems that CR is a real pain in the ass to use as a developing tool when you have to package up all this crap just to get it to work on other's machines! And by the by, does anyone have a package that has all the dll's compiled for use so that others can just download it for use..... That would be very helpful for those uf us just running into this problem. Any help is appreciated. I am really getting irritated with Seagate!

OK one last post... what about those of us using 8.5? This will probably work for us I guess? Anything for the ones still now looking to upgrade yet?

I hear you !
I am thinking, if anyone can come up with something to assist you with working with the newer versions of CR....they are going to make some serious friends!!
While I havent yet conquered my printing/printer issues ...
(see post http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=246281)
I have only begun to be worried about the deployment of my application.....
All I want to do, is use my old reports, in an upgraded version of my app...I am not asking for tons of new functionality....
If anyone has an assistant, for helping to get the deployment of this Seagate nightmare....PLEASE post it.... :(
