Er, I'm a bit confused to? Did Germany invade Iraq? I think that must have been during the North African offensive. I remember doing this one in school. General Rommel on the german side, facing off across the desert against Britains Monty Python.

Oh I remember, the treaty of Paranese where it was decided that Britain got the French, Spaniards and Portugese, the Russians got everything past the 59 th parallel and the rest were told that they were free.
The Americans got Japan and Australia.

And everyone was content, sent money to their partners and started making things. Mostly trouble.

We still have North Korea, which is a more potential threat than Iraq, US should concentrate more resources on them, but it is as if they wouldn't dare do anything, maybe afraid of a 2. Vietnam ? who knows ?

I think we should just do as the North Koreans ask and send them more food. Then everyone's happy.

And then, when we've lulled them into a false sense of security we should bomb South Korea. No one would ever expect that - whcih is why it is such a brilliant idea.

They can't cross the desert because they've already eaten their camels. Do you know how heavy a missile is ? There's no way they could've carried it from Pakistan to Pyongyan on foot.

PS. As far as I know, Pearl Harbor was never bombed. Hawaii just happened to float under some falling bombs, so it was really Hawaii's fault. They should know better than to get in the way of a training exercise.

They used spades to train there army, waht you are saying with pearl harbor is saying that there wasn't any ´KZ camps, youre FAR OUT!

I am a bit suspicious about your claim that the Germans practised with Shovels when they didn't have guns..... the two are totally different in weight and balance. Wouldn't they have been better off with sticks? I just have this mental image of German troops digging trenches with their new found rifles.

mmmmm. I learned lots about World War II in school. About all the battles, the espionage, the colonic irrigation etc. And about the people. I will forever have the image of the British President (Winston Churchill) rallying the troops before the battle of Stalingrad (I think it was). Those imortal lines "Give me liberty or give me death." A true statesman! We need more people like that now adays.

And Britain wasnt involved in the Soviet affair at stalingrad, ONLY russian and german troops. Try watching the movie "Enemy At The Gates" gives you a good view of what really happened!

Are you sure the British weren't invovled in the battle of Stalingrad. I could have sworn they were. Maybe they just sent some warships to help out the Russians.

Yeah, it does seem strange that a country (Germany) who are widely regarded as having the most advanced Space Program in the world, would use something as daft as spades, when sticks would quite obviously be a better training tool.

The thing is, theese spades where used for making shooting holes as well, and was part of the main "package" a soldier would have, therefore actually a quite good tool for training.
They also had the back form of a rifle, with should support, which made them better for use than sticks, get it !?

What germany trained was like... a thousand admirals, and by the way, they already had a massive army when wanting to take over stalingrad. they didn't when because of the unexpected winter. If you check the history book, hitler made EXACTLY the same error as napoleon, underestimating the Russian winther.

I just can't see anyone being frightened of 1,000 old men coming towards them covered in gold braid with starch white uniforms. I mean, the uniforms would get all muddy for one thing.
