Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> Click AutoComplete...
Untick all options saying "Use Autocomplete For"
- Web Addresses
- Forms
- User Names and Passwords on Forms
And its fixed. WOOHOO!!!

SirB : I used to have this probelm too, using IE6 on Win2k. I too modifies the settings and got it to work, but forgeot exactly what I did. Thanks for the info... ;)

I would guess then that when you go to type in some address or some value in the textbox, it then does an intensive search in some part of the registry to pattern match what you've just entered.
And if you have any virus scanners running, or any other weird applications, or if the processor is being used by some other process, then that searching could be extremely slow.
Just a thought.
Anyway this isn't really a General VB Q&A question so I'm moving the thread into General PC
