1. This is why you should always drink a beer with your garbage man, mail man, UPS/FedX man, Meter Reader Man, Milk Man and pizza delivery boy. Not only will you know if something is amiss when the wrong person shows up or is doing something out of the ordinary you also make a good friend. Ever since I adopted this strategy(I am being serious) My garbage cans are always upt back where I left them, My mail is always in the right mail box, My packages are always left some where dry(very important in Seattle), The Meter reader dosn't walk through my flower patch any more, my milk is always left in the shade so my fruity pebbles taste better, and um, well my pizza is still late because the pizza boy is a pot head and dosnt like beer, but at leas he is always happy when he shows up and dosn't eat my breadsticks on the way any more.

how would it even be possible for an al qaeda terrorist to detonate a chemical/bio weapon? don't they have to be detonated in the upper atmosphere?

No. Airborne release has the most spread, but isn't the only way. It can be released through ducting (think office building, mall, etc.) or just spread around on the ground. I think when it's an airborne release it's more likely to affect more people, but it's also more diluted so less damage is done to those who come into contact with it. I may be wrong about that, but it makes sense to me.

No. They are more effective that way but it is not necessary. ie dump a bottle of bacteria in a water supply. Put some anthrax in mcdonalds big mac special sauce containers. Rocket sience is not necessary when you have people who are nutts enough to hand deliver it.

I think that AlQeada has the teisted view that nations like he US are fractured, divided, and weak because they have people from different nationalities, and religions. They think that they could never stand up to a unified force like Islam (all of which they think stands behind them), and of coruse they are wrong. Our differences make us strong.

I agree! Unfortunately, I do think that the fanatic weirdos that do follow bin laden are capable of causing destruction on a grave scale which will result in great suffering....but it will only make us stronger!

If that third world country would have handed him over like they were asked to in the first place Bush probably wouldn't have leveled the place. Remember, He gave them plenty of notice and the Taliban refused to turn him over.

I see where you're coming from Ghost, but I'm not sure it's as easy as that. First of all, Osama has admitted to and bragged about killing thousands of people, so evidence really isn't necessary. Even if we had produced evidence, they wouldn't have accepted it as such. It would have been a stupid political semantics game.

I'm also pretty sure we had no clue where he was. If we did, then you are absolutely right that's where we should have gone first. But killing Osama is only a small percentage of the problem. Those guys are like roaches - they're everywhere and for every one you kill there's a thousand more hiding in the walls. I think our objective was to take out the taliban - not just get Osama. If that's our objective, then obviously we're failing miserably.

And I also agree for general purposes GWB should be making fries for a living.

If a soldier doesn't kill him then his trial will last 5 years, cost us billions of dollars, he'll end up in prison as a martyr and eventually be released when he's 87. Then he'll do one or two more things before he dies.

If he gets fried in the chair, then he'll still be a martyr. The best thing that can happen is a soldier snipes his sorry ass.

The problem is that if the US hadn't given the Taliban 1 month to make their decision about giving up Osama(Usama?, who cares?), they would have been seen as attacking a nation without good reason. But since they gave them that much time, he had time to hide himself.

The US's killing of innocent people is very regrettable, but i must be frank and say...the Taliban had to go. They weren't elected in any way, and they oppressed their own people. A modern nation cant be run my extremist fundamentalists, and expect to prosper. You can't whip women for showing their ankles (by accident) on a street. Its plain wrong. And on top of all that, they were harbouring Al Quaeda. That pretty much gave the US a reason to attack them...a justified reason to. They made a mess not only for themselves, but for Muslims all around the world, because they try to justify their actions with their religion, as does Al-Queada.

Its safe to say that civilians certainly were not targetted by the US, and whenever they are killed, it is a tragedy. But the US needed to take action. They couldn't let an attack like 9/11 take place and be seen as weak, because that would encourage more attacks.

Also, I don't think the US really had any idea where Osama is/was. If they did, i dont think he would have survived this long.

Of course the content is reprehensible but what else did you expect then ? Sweet talk ? These guys know exactly what they're doing. For all intents and purposes the US is waging a war against Al-Quaeda. Of course they will use every weapon in their arsenal. As long as the organisation stands, they will try to conducts these kind of acts.

However despicable I find their tactics and however much I'd like to see this world to be cleansed from these extremists I must say that these reactions from the US surprise me.
Surely these kinds of threats are to be expected, aren't they ?
US Security and government should be aware of the dangers of these extremists and take necessary steps to ensure safety for Americans, in America and abroad. They should make sure this cannot happen.

Again, I'm not saying that I agree with these extremists (not even in the very least) but I find it a bit surprising that many Americans are crestfallen when they hear these comments. You're in a war and this is/was to be expected.

Let's hope that it is only tough talk and this will never occur for real. That's the job for your government to ensure that.
