Just make a html page with meta refresh on this url and it can just run in the background. We did that on Norways biggest TV company web page when there was a poll on one of the songs one of my buddies had made. We did hit 1.000.000 hits in less then 24h. So they thought the results was kind of funny when there is only 4.000.000 peoples in this country....:D
