first of all the person is not deep into Square and does not get fresh info. She helps tranlate the jap games to english. She is in fact Japanese but can speak English very well. This might not seem new at all :)
Final Fantasy 11 is indeed online.
You need a PS2 harddrive add on to play (for patches and stuff)
Square is in negotiations with Nintendo to try to get the old FF series on GameBoy advanced.
FF 11 will be ported onto PC once it is established with PS2 peeps.
