Hopefully this will be buried in the post race and I won't have to take much bs from my fellow Americans, but I think the whole thing has gotten way out of hand. To even question what the admininstration is doing gets you labeled as anti-American. Tom and I have been outraged at what civil liberties have been proposed being taken away from us. John Ashcroft smacks of nazi-ism and has been given a free hand to impose his version of "national security" on us without anyone even blinking an eye! It's about time some one spoke up!
I watched Letterman the first night he came back after 9/11. His guest was Dan Rather and they were both choked up to the point of tears. Yet, I'm sure he has been labeled as un-American by making the statements he made in that link. It's all very sad and scary!

The saddest part is Katie, when we non-US people claim such statements we're "America bashing" and we get buried under a whole bunch of unrelated facts, figures and abuse on how much we suck for saying such things about the US.
