I am....Good morning to you....did you get my e-mail?
Hi Katie.
Only 7 pages to go, now!
I tried to use IRC this weekend...I get a network not responding error message. It says
/joined: not connected to the server(network not responding) any suggestions?
you need to connect first...
if you've already created a new server in mIRC, click "connect to server"
and if you've typed in the correct IP and Port, you should get some pretty colors(well a black box with some colors inside) and a box will pop up that says "channels"
close that box, and type:
/join #vbworld
It doesn't work....I get a connection to server message that includes the correct ip and port...then it sits there. I go to commands, join channel and type in #VBWorld...it says /join: not connected to server. Sometimes I get an unable to connect to network error instead of the connecting to 62.137.133.178 (667) and then a not connected error. Just tried again and got unable to connect (network is unreachable).

it's port 6667
That may be why?
Nope...I just fat fingered the port when I was typing the post.
hmmmm.... are you running a firewall of any sort?
Yep....many...I'm at work.
thats probably why then... were you able to connect to TDs IRC server at your home?
I didn't get a chance to try it....I had a GREAT weekend. I tried to download mirc.exe last night around 9:00 pm and it took 20 minutes....I lost patience and went out to play in the snow with my kids....
20 minutes?
it's a 1 MB file....
The weather was doing weird stuff last night....it took me forever to get http://www.mirc.com to respond too. I'll try again tonight.
Thats wierd.... that never happens over here... doesn't matter what the weather is, my connection is great... well, as long as it doesn't knock the DSL line down..
what I don't like about that, is it takes the phone company forever to fix it. :(
one time a neighbor was moving in somebody to rent a room, and the truck driver knocked our phone -- and DSL line down... it was out for about 2 days... :(
Verizon is a little flaky sometimes....they said it has something to do with the length of the cable to the box?? I don't know...they could tell me it has something to do with the alignment of the planets and I wouldn't know wether they were telling the truth or not....
I've been pretty satisfied with my connection... it's Mindspring Max DSL...
The only problem(s) I have with it, is it's similar to dial up, my computer has to "talk" to the server before I establish the connection.. it's fine.. but I would prefer a static IP + always on connection... mine IP is dynamic....
