I might have a heart attack from all these ups and downs from today.
What's a PIP in this context? (Over here it's a pension - which doesn't seem to fit with the story)
Personal Improvement Plan.
Basically, fix these specific actions or you're fired. It's basically something an employer can use in court to CYOA (cover your own ya know) if they get sued for wrongful termination.
Yeah, that sounds like it sucks.
Good that you've got he CEO onside if not your line manager.
When I first met the CEO, I honestly thought he was full of it because he is so positive and so growth oriented. But after you get to know him you realize that he is genuine and that he really cares about the well being of everyone.
Well scratch that. The opportunity the CEO wanted to put me in isn't actually a done deal, so he's accepted my resignation.
For the first time in my adult life, I am without a job.

I did the same last month. I'm a contractor but have been on the same contract for the last 5 years or so. Used to be great but the company got brought out by a big American company and my little team just got forgotten about then the rest of the team left over the last year until I was basically all that was left and the there was no work left to do. I probably could have just kept sending the invoices and they wouldn't have noticed but that's not for me - I like to be busy.
Hope you find something new soon. Or just take a break if you have the luxury.
I'm taking a break today then tomorrow I plan on hitting the job circuit hard.
I believe dday is a young family man. Unless he's lucky enough to have a wife with a really good income, taking a break really isn't an option. Well, it is an option. But bills don't take a break.
It's a lot different nowadays, your job opportunities were limited to what was available in your area. Now, your job site can be anywhere and only a mouse click away. Good luck.
Go away for a few days, and look at all that happens.
Only one program broke, though, and it wasn't mine, but they only told me. Folks have to learn. They know I'll be retiring in November.
That job does sound like a roller coaster, and not a fun one to be on.
I was off at a work retreat. I really like the folks I work with. Bit tired now, though.
It was a very educational experience. For one thing, I learned about this:

No, it's not a Rick Roll...it's...well, you'd have to decide for yourself.
What in the world did I just watch.
Canadian propaganda.
I thought it was about Narnia.
Kind of. It's Banff. You know they have f's left to give.
Guess I won post race.
Now I won.
Nobody wins in this race.
We just drop out...

...one.
I will say that with each passing day, I'm increasingly impressed by Barrk. How can anybody post THAT much drivel?
I completely missed the meaning of that post. If there was any. Barrk?????
Barrk leads the post race by a considerable amount. That means that they posted over 7,400 posts to this thread even though they were only around for a little over two years. They ended up averaging around 8 posts per day to the post race.
By contrast, DDay has about 5,600 in a much longer time.
There was no timeout period back then, but still...8 posts per day for over two years?
I want to get to post 69969
I wonder if I can do it. I am already bored. this time out is going to kill me
Still have 14 to go
