we're talking about cars, huh?? if we are, then I'm getting a Ford F150 really soon ;)
I currently drive a 1.8 . . . .
. . . diesel . . . . . non-turbo version . . . . .
. . . . oh yeah it's a Fiesta.
my first car was a mk2 1.1 fiesta on a B plate. had it for 3 and a half years and completley ran it to the ground :D
We have an Audi 90 2.3 fuel-guzzling road-chewer (and its red  )
I say "we" 'coz I'm not allowed to drive it :( but I am allowed in the passenger seat.
I have a 1000cc Polo called Patsy II (blue)
Nice ;)
...but the love of my life is the suzuki GSXR 750 bike in the garage :) :) :)
I find myself going thru front tyres far too often . . . . that could be down to the fact that I like cornering hard . . . . and in a fwd car with a 1.8 litre diesel engine (HEAVY) it tends to be harsh on front suspension and tyres . . . . but it is a LOT of fun . . . . I've driven more expensive cars that, pound for pound, don't deliver the same level of enjoyment - probably because all of the mone has been spent molly coddling the driver, with power-steering, servo-over-assisted brakes etc.
If all goes well I should be getting my next car in the next 6 months or so. at the moment it's a toss up between a second hand 318 beamer or a brand new peugot 206 Gsi :)
get the beamer, get the beamer :p
I'm leaving my job :( :(
'coz I hate it
yeah, I am very tempted by the BMW :) but also the warranty and such of a new car is also swaying me, that and kepping up with the jones with a 02 number plate. materialistic, moi ? :D
what's up on the job front stacey ? bosses giving you a hard time ? this is a complete stab in the dark but does your company that you work for have a big contract with barclays bank. if yes, i'll explain how I have come to this conclusion :)
Jeez, this thread's still going? :D
edit: Woohoo! Page 905 not far til 1000 :D
Mild connection with Barclays - not big contracts (as well as wages paid through them) - but tell me anyway 'coz I'm interested.....
**** gotta go - i'll be back laters
ok then, going a bit further, do you have an office at birmingham and have people working in coventry for barclays ? the reason I have asked this is about that post you made in the thread about contractor rates. in it you said about a contractor charging redicously low amount for testing.
A little about myself. for the last two years I have worked for a company that contracts out people through agencies, witht hem taking a cut of the rate and giving people like myself the rest. it has been good as it has got me out into the IT world although now I am trying to move on as it is holding me back.
Last year I had an interview for a job in Birmingham for a job with a company that has got a contract with Barclays bank. someone else had tried for job with them for a testing role, but as it went dissasterously wrong for them, I had to remove everything from my cv that mentions this company I work for. I went up to the interview and whilst talking to the people, they started saying about that I am from hastings and have I heard about brite (My company). obviously I had to feign ignorance and it turns out that the Girl who went for the interview completley fecked it up and was being touted at a really low rate so they became rather suspicous.
Hence why I asked about the barclays connection. was going to ask in that thread but forgot all about it. it's a completle stab in the dark, and is probably little more than coincedence :)
I throw lunchtime blubber at everyone
Glad to see you're still nuts Bonker :]
I heard everything got a bit political here, and a load of people left... :(
good afternoon SIr Bonker of Guddness, how fairs it ?
Hey Ian, I'm still depressed in Bradford, but Altringham it is from Monday week, will have to try and meet up with some of the Manchester chaps.
Lordy, it's Ric! Where you been to?
From now on I will be serious. I've had it up to here with all this madcap zany humour that floats around this board. You will now cease it !
I will no more indulge cracks about sexual orientation, aggravated assaults on the english language, booze stories, sex stories such as the one about the time I went into a sex shop and ordered a Suck-o-Matic 3000 for my ... err ...
*clears throat* haaaaaaanyway, no more of all this madness, understood ?
wally, you resisting making funny comments is like me spelling correctly ...... Never gona happen. And we wouldn't want you any other way .... well apart from Justin who seems to want all blokes a different way at the moment :D
Bonker - Be warned , Gary, Ben and matt will convert you into a northerner if your not careful ;)
*chucks bucket of water over Wally*
Some people have been coming and going since Sep 11th I guess, things seem quite quiet politically now though thank god. At least the sane ones remain :)Quote:
