:D:D:D lol
It's going along well.
Good Job, Continue the good work :D
Yes, it does.
Nothing's wrong with it. I just think that because Andreas's forum is set up with all the separate forums for the different aspects of development we should use that instead.Quote:

But it is sloooooooow...and Alex can just set up his forum the same way.
Well
for me f2s is not slow at all.
The page usually doesn't need more that 2 secs to load
(the logo on the main page might take 10 more secs, but that's due to my modem)
AND BTW: I don't want to set up the forum again!
AND I COULD GET A NETFIRMS ACCOUNT IF I WANTED!
Look, it's nothing personal, but obviously some people are having problems with F2S (especially ei, me, and others in the US).
Filburt,
just try http://www.ocarina.de.vu
I, like Andreas can connect to freedom2surf pages very quickly indeed.
Netfirms, on the other hand is very sloooooooow for me :(
How about a comprimise - portland.co.uk ?
Check it out.
I did; the status bar says www.alsoft.f2s.com, and while the frame loaded quickly, it took half a minute on cable to fully load the page.
If this is just for code storage, why not just use an FTP server?Quote:

Oh and filburt, I challenge you to keep an avatar for a week without changing it :D
It's not. It's for the forum.Quote:

IT IS NOT JUST CODE STORAGE

Patoooey challenged me to keep it for a day and I kept it for 25 hours. :eek:Quote:

Anyway...why do we need a secure forum? If we'll just be trading ideas, somebody who'd want to steal our code would have to write it thereselves.
BTW, Andreas, calm down! Jeez!
Well, we want a forum which is split into different divisions - Andreas's is.
We want a forum which is secure so no other people can post topics, wreking the forum - Andreas's is.
We want a centralized meeting point where we can discuss where we're at with different aspects of development - Andreas's does.
We're not just trading ideas but also code, so it's better to have a forum that is secure, in the case of the board on my page the OCARINA DevTeam member's only forums are invisible for all others
And BTW j2k is my co-admin ;)
And BTW, filburt,
You have to register because otherwise you can't even see there are any special forums
:DQuote:

Please register on the forums and many more forums will become available, and immediately accessible to you.
Come on filburt
Just register, it doesn't cost anything
It doesn't hurt and you don't have to enter any real private stuff!
Sigh, if people would just stop whining about how slow f2s is and just phreakin' work along with the rest we would have atleast got a bit of work done, but now... people are still doing sh*t instead of the work that lies ahead.
and about the question ; why do we need a seperate forum .. well.. guess? We got a project that takes 3 communicational aspects .. The Web.. The server and all its modules and the client which has even more options. If you want to dump all questions and conversations in this forum it would be chaos in the flesh.
so of all people that would ask about this, i didn't expect filb to ask it.
Further more; EiSec; The docs are recreated in an other style, and they will be uploaded to the ocarina board. (Yes, thats the board that Andreas hosts). and no.. I'm not gonna use any other board at this moment (if its slow, use a proxy for pete's sake)
And I hereby call upon ya'all to register yourself at the ocarina board if you want to still want to work with the team since it IS the primary communicational way..
oh yah, I'm serious about this.. no whining about slow sites and stuff, since i got a bit sick of hearing this all day long..
who are you?Quote:
Earl of Gonds
and I do not see why we need a second forum...i think we need something like : edrive or something who all will have an access to download and upload project, picture, doc... you know what I mean ?
Developing things like this isn't only sitting behind your VB project coding... its a lot more... as in, documenting code (Though yes, that could be uploaded to a edrive) - discussing code (oh fun, lets all chat here.. with 3 simulation project modules being discussed through eachother, with under those project modules are around 6 to 7 subprojects which are also discussed ofcourse...
so why do we need a good forum?.. because we need things organized!
This forum is ok to talk and discuss. a edrive or something like that can be good to send project and documentation . For moment I think we should start to plan all here and to start to build something great, we should not waste to much time just to find a forum. But I have a question, in our official website we will have a forum...with many Forum like vb who have General, Api, Games... why we dont have our like that with one section who will be only for team so we will be all in the same place.
so get ur ass to the ocarina site :P
http://www.ocarina.de.vu/... the Guestbook is bad :(
We should have a welcome message and some information about what we will do and what is Ocarina.
I go make homework, I will be right back in 1 hour and half.
How about we ask John if he could just make a seperate section for us in VBForums?
j2k, my forum IS split into different sections, and new sections can be added in literally a few seconds. It is also secure. I can either password protect the forum or make it available only to specific users.Quote:

That would be ultrasupermegacool.Quote:

I would extremely doubt it, but if you want to just have a private discussion then ask him to let only you guys post.
No doubt it would be cool, but like Sastraxi says, the chances are slim to none, so we'll have to make do with the forum here . Failure to register may result in the termination of your membership to the OCARINA network. A new forum may be established later, but until then you'll just have to make do with this one.
How about we give everybody until, say, Monday, and then I'll lock this thread so everybody uses Andrea's forum instead.
Sure :)
P.S. I'm sure Andreas would be pleased to be called a female name ;) :o
Okay...
Annoucement
Everybody has until midnight (EST) on Monday, October 1, 2001 to register at Andreas' forum at http://www.alsoft.f2s.com/ocarina/iboard/ikonboard.cgi . As j2k mentioned, failure to do so will mean that you will not be able to continue communicating with members of the project.
This thread will be locked once the deadlines passes.
IMPORTANT
ALWAYS access the OCARINA website via http://www.ocarina.de.vu!
This will ALWAYS redirect you to the right server.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT coz I gonna changing the Server for OCARINA soon
To something other than the evil cult that is F2S?
Yes or no, that's YOUR decision.
I set up a poll on our board (Discussion Board section).
I registered.
I know ;)
(I'm the webmaster of our board so I get an email everytime a new member registers)
So we not gonna use that board ?
my forum name is daok in the other board.
And I'd now like to declare that our new Ocarina Network logo is:
http://www.vbforums.com/
As graphics designer I thought I'd have a say in it.
Turtle you made that ?
well I like it a lots :D
Who did not register at the new forum?
No, I mean I was not even asked for my opinion.Quote:

I didn't know you were the Graphics Designer...
I think we need a big group meeting some time very soon, don't you.
I made something fast ( 15 minutes ) with the logo. Maybe we will be able to add it in the website but I will re-touch it, I do not like the quality and the logo is not at the first plan, so I will change that :D
Go there : http://www.liquid2k.com/daok/ocarina.html
Flashy. :D
My only suggestion is that the word "Network" should fly in before the notes start drifting around.
I will work on it in tommorow :), now I am trying to learn c++ :D
*sigh*
...guess no one wants to use my board, huh?
...to think I spent over 34 hours customizing it...:(
Jon is clearly enforcing his reign of terror.

By finalizing the decision to use Andreas' forum instead of yours.
