The IDE is coming along nicely. As far as the comiler/linker I couldn't tell you because Jake doens't update us too often. He is in the process of doing research on linkers I think and his computer is being built.

Nice logo datacide. I assume you made it? I like the slogan. Maybe penagate can get some insperation from that.

Penagate is assigned mostly to the library so he can't do anything until Jake has a big chunk of the work done. But hes is still reading the thread and offering suggestions is an exteremely helpful thing to do at this point. The more feedback we can get the better.

Can you tell me more about the website you can offer? Would I have to send you files before you could upload them or would I have some sort of direct access to the host (PS - I don't have any form of FTP available to use ... Long story). You can PM me if you wish or post here.

Well I can't work on it if I don't have a computer yet. My father is messing with me on this cause he's taking his sweet time on it, thinking I really don't deserve it. :rolleyes:

Maybe we should have Coding The Future as the logo. Coding tommorow sounds kinda weird. Other than that its looking pretty good. The underline going behind the fusion symbol looks a little werid but also good at the same time.

I like the way the second one fades off to the right. The color on it is good too. Matches the IDE menus, but I can change those to any color so its not a big deal. Blue is good too.

The G looks a LOT better.

(Bad) spotlighting

Thats AWESOME penagate. Freaking amazing. The last thing I can think of is making the background color a little more blue. Maybe not quite as blue as the one a few posts above, but somewhere inbetween.

You're a genius dude. Did you take classes to do this. Thanks a million for all the time you are spending on it. I know it can be a pain to do stuff for other people some times, but I really appriciate it.

EDIT: Also, could you maybe put the "Coding The Future" in Courier New. I am not sure if it would look good or not, but it might. Also maybe with a // or some other coding characters around it. Its not a big deal though. It looks good how it is.

I liked the dark one, but with lighting effects it would be very cool.

I don't really like th spotlight one all that much. The effect is kind of weird I didn't even see the spotlights in it until just now, it looks like a textured background to me with HUGE sections as the texture.

The color is good and I like the slogan.

Jake, I'm not too sure about "coding the bright future" as a slogan, but lets hear what others have to say (even though only 5 people are keeping up on this thread).

EDIT: Penagate, can you go back to the logo from post #648, just with a background that is more blue. I like the way the light is off to one side. Also adding the //'s was good. Maybe use the colors of blue you used back at the beggining when you were posting Blue/Black/Grey logos. That blue was good.

Also, going back to the forms thing (Window1, Window2...etc)
Vb does this kind of thing and stores them in a text file with the extension of .frm, would your forms end up looking like this and then be interpretted by the compiler or not ?
Just an idea really, but it would make other people able to code a form creator that outputs these values from a drawn form...

Anyways, what I was saying before is FREE ad-free webspace and probably a domain name. For now though, everything can be hosted on my website if there are no objections. lightfusion.com is available, so if you want it I can get it for ya. I'm not 100% sure I can get the webspace for free but I can probably get it for V-E-R-Y cheap. Of course, once the project gets a website you can get some PayPal donations for it.

You have NO IDEA how insanely awesome that would be. Anything you are willing to do would be great. LightFusion.com and some cheap webspace would be perfect and your right we could get papal donations and use some small google text ads.

Windows are far far far far off at this point, but yes, we do plan on doing it like that (as far as I know).

Can I please get some people to vote on which icons they like the best?

I want to remove the extra ones soon. They are getting annoying.

Penagate, BTW, I don't think I mentioned this before, but I REALLY like the fusion symbol smaller banner from post 648 (the one currently in my sig). I like how the dark spot in the middle isn't perfectly centered, the way you have it makes it look 3D. You probably have it that way in the other stuff, but it just isn't as noticiable because the text is infront of it.

A couple of things, if no one wants to pay for a domain (not yet at least) you can get a subdomain.us.to name for free, http://freedns.afraid.org/ . (You have full control of DNS there to).

Also do you forsee any support for Windows CE? (Im just asking this because I just recntly got a pocket pc off ebay, a Jornada 548, I'm loving it.)

But maybe make the lighter part of the background a bit darker so the text glows better, maybe make the background less grey too. Otherwise very sexy.

I think ASP is supported, I know that PHP is. There's a good chance I can get the hosting for $1/month if bought for 5 years (so it's actually $60 in total). As for the domain name, you can't be certain if it will stick around for long, so I can set up a PayPal account to collect the in-total $90+GST we will need. Oh, and what's the company name? Code Writter's Consortium?
