Let me make it simple, any Star Trek made before 2009 is real Star Trek which is every one of those you mentioned.
If you're into young teen melodrama like Dawson's Creek or Vampire Diaries then all Star Trek made from 2009 to the present is for you but that is not real Star Trek.
Though to be fair I did enjoy the second movie made in 2013, mostly because Benedict Cumberbatch gave such a compelling performance as Khan. It was perhaps the closest I have seen modern Star Trek come to being true to form. It still had a lot of melodramatic nonsense like Uhura and Spock's little lover's spat which was done very poorly for something in the Star Trek universe.
I can appreciate "J.J. Trek" films as their own thing, a sort of kaleidoscopic look at the original series spun out in a different way. There is a lot that bothered me about their altered take on it all but also a lot to enjoy. I view them as something between "Galaxy Quest" and actual "Star Trek."

One of the brilliant things about classic Star Trek shows is that it often challenged the viewers to think about the things we take for granted in new and interesting ways. Everyday things like love, hate ,conflict, family, religion, duty, responsibility and morality. Modern writers lack the sophistication to produce works that tackle these topics in interesting ways. The writers for The Orville are the sole exception.
I see Dave Cullen is backtracking a little now on "Picard" S3. Waffling pretty hard actually. So as I said I'll probably watch it if made available this side of the paywall, at least the first few episodes.
I guess we still have the Picardroid but "er, they were stuck with it, just live with that now." Cullen does more tap dancing than that as well: weird Worf behavior ("ignore that"), swearing ("not as much"), angry women ("not quite as angry now"), etc.
Poor Dave. He doesn't enjoy being caught with his hand in the till.

Fans in Philadelphia seem to go wild regardless of win or loss, day or night. I've heard of the lamp post trick before. Us frustrated Giants fans simply do not understand this behavior...
I think it might have to do with the lamp posts. I saw a picture of it, and it looks like they have some fancy light posts down there. A simple metal pole is difficult to climb, greased or not, but those ornate cast poles looks like they have more grip on them.
It turned out to be a good game, though.
Yeah, good game. That Hurts fumble was costly. KC's offense in the second half was terrific. Nice mix if run and pass. Mahomes got rid of the ball quick and made a couple plays with his legs.
That last penalty was a killer.
It was nice to see the CB come out and say that it really was holding. He owned up to it.
I thought the overturned fumble, earlier, wasn't a great call, and there was a missed PI early on, but overall I thought the refs did a good job.
What was pretty nice was that there were essentially no injuries. Mahomes re-injured his ankle...but it clearly didn't matter much. I don't remember a single time stoppage due to injury in the entire game. Contrast that with the NFC Championship where the 49ers had a couple members of the custodial staff playing by the second half...
Pacheco took a big hit and was down for a little while. Didn't keep him out long.
Yeah, that was a hard hit. I never expected him to be out for very long, though, and he wasn't. I think he just got the wind knocked out of him.

The solution to pollution is dilution.
That's not a flippant statement. For most every form of pollution, we don't really have any other solution. Some things can be cleaned up over time through biological degradation. For other types of pollution, all we do is scrape up everything contaminated and truck it somewhere with either fewer people, or those with less political clout. For still others, we cap it in place and tell people not to touch the water or any dirt. In both cases, there's a form of dilution at play to reach any ultimate goal.
It does sound like they might have measured incorrectly. I say "might have", because this is becoming so distorted that it's hard to say what is fact and what is fiction anymore. They should have measured upwind, at the site, and downwind. They might even have done that. The reporting seems to depend on which position was taken. I'm mostly hearing anecdotes on the news, which isn't all that helpful.
I'm not even sure who "they" are, in this case. I thought I heard it was the EPA, which seems possible, but a bit odd. Idaho has it's own, for things like this, and they seem to do a pretty responsible job. I have no idea what Ohio has.

It's relatively nice, up here, but that means that it's above freezing, not that it is nice enough for anybody to want to be parading.
It's much worse when the trumpet players freeze to their instruments.
On Saturday it was hovering around the 50's which was a little chilly, but yesterday it was in the upper 60's and felt amazing. It looks like we have a high/low today of 78/67 which will be another beautiful day.
I love Lundi Gras almost as much as I love Mardi Gras.
We might make it to 50 degrees today, but it might snow tomorrow.
Not really complaining. We started off with a good winter. It hasn't been totally dry since then, but it hasn't been all that wet, either. We need more snow before the winter is out, and a wet spring would be mostly good. Mostly, because I'm intending to go for a six week bike trip, so a sodden spring might make for some damp riding.
