I have given up the map editor, mostly due to the fact that I kept asking you for stuff for over a month, and never receved them. I don't rember what these things where though.

I was thinking about having some more factions and making them a bit more personable, similar to SMAC. Let's face it, we got no small measure of enjoyment out of screaming abuse at that bible thumping lunatic or the Infogrrrrl.
I'm not really feeling sufficiently eloquent to carry the game design further today anyway. I think we've reached a natural plateau and should get on with what we've got.
I'm at Rachel's tonight too (I really must grab that early night soon...:rolleyes: ), so i can't get anything done, barring ideas. Luckily however, tomorrow is my day off. :D

What do you mean by "set of buttons"? individually as I have done? If so, you're simply missing the off ones, but I don't know what you mean by white background. You make no sense. :p

idea:
an enemy faction is stampeding towards your base in a half-dozen Daishi-style super mechs. Then you pull out your defensive super-weapon. 6 tiny scout mechs zoom across the battlefield, each engaging an attacking unit. As soon as the reach close-compat range, they discharge an EMP charge, destroying themselves, but totally immobilising the enemy troops (for a limited period of time), granting the besieged faction time to establish enough base-defense to see the threat off...
A close-combat type EMP charge weapon :D

The EMP shouldn't destroy the mech using it, but I was considering having one the specials that you can carry as EMP shielding. If your mech doesn't have it, it gets shut down regardless of whether it's firing the EMP or receiving it.
Whether the small mech is destroyed or not, it's gonna get stomped as soon as the big mech regains control of its limbs! The idea was that even a small mech could fire a massive EMP charge at close range (although most probably sacrificing itself).
I can see Sentience being a hugely strategic game in the respect that a number of tactics involve small mechs (remember the rust missile strike? :D )

Its (been) the busiest weekend of the whole f*kin year and I've had to work every god-forsaken minute of it.
This is what really bugs me. Between 6 months and a year ago, I constructed an Excel sheet with all the weapons we had come up with so far (including special weapons). You seemed dead grateful for it at the time. Have a look through your inbox or something, cos I don't have a copy of it (its probably still on the server at college heh heh...)Quote:
