Igor, don't take me wrong. Your work is great! I definatly support your making the head rounder. The peasant doesn't have a hat to hide his head, so it needs that. Keep up what you have been doing. It is great.

Do you mean 3D model groups?
Living Nature: Animals, birds, etc.
Immobile Nature: Trees, etc.
Buildings
Humans
Lizardmen
Monsters: Brownies, Boggarts, and Dragons.
Is that all? I thought we had Fearie Folks, Deamons, etc...

And yes, I can try to do that, Sas, but it might raise the polycount severely, so maby I'll leave that to the skin

Yes, 3DSmax can import and export VRML. I'm such a loser that I don't even actually know what VRML is. But I guess that's ok. But what do you do about music? I can compos if you need it. I've played piano for 11 years now, so I guess that won't be a problem at all...:p
Sas, could you PLEASE tell me the groups? I'm guessing we're confused because we don't know. Igor and I had suggested some, but please tell us the groups so we not get confused.

Sorry, I didn't know what you meant. I remember working on this with Jorj a while back, but I can't remember any but 2. Jorj has them on his computer somewhere... Anyways, there are about six, and they all have the same models. They are all human players, but can get lizardmen from summoning or hiring them, or even buying them. The same goes for the other monsters. The town squares are different for each civ. though.

Hear this: That's what will ship with the ORIGINAL game. Like Zaei said above, after the game is done we could do a few expanison packs that would add these new civilizations. I think that it would still be fun with all humans, as all of the civs have a completely different strategy needed to be effective.
Oh! OK. Cause I think we would end up like AOE if we couldn't place civs that were not human.
TOW will have full mod support. Have you noticed what happens to games that have it? Without MODs, HL would have been another bargain bin.

As to monsters, remember, when spells go bad, there is a chance that a new monster could be summoned.

It's quick and dirty though. I didn't have time to completely remove the faces that are never seen, so it's about 500 triangles (498).

How about having an on-screen GUI, but one that's collapsable and able to be transparent, so that you can see more of what's going on...?
The GUI is already transparent =P. You can close the windows (scroll dealies) at any time, and if they are all gone, there is no GUI onscreen. I think I will have the Scrolls slide in from the sides of the screen (or maybe they unroll from the top(requires several versions of the rolled part)?). Anyway, I will try to get an Implementation of the terrain going this afternoon. The its on to the GUI.

Oh. I see what you are saying. Like a Warcraft-esque deal, except you can hide it? The reason i want to steer away from that is that I want to immerse the player as far into the game as possible, and an onscreen GUI like Warcraft reminds the player that this is only a game. If we remove the GUI, and just show the action, for the most part, the player goes deeper into the game. I also want to be able to play with nothing but a mouse =).

You will be able to play with nothing but a mouse. But we really need a AOK/Warcraft-style GUI that is hideable. We really need this, there's another way to do it but I like the traditional way better.
Oh, and what did you think about the model? If you liked it I'll make more. But the textures aren't for certain yet (only the stained glass windows)
I dont have a VRML viewer =(. Post a .jpg, please.
How about we make the GUI configurable? It will be really easy, once I get the components made up.
