Only recently i started 2 learn j/p, i picked up a bit from anime
You need to live there to speak properly IMHO. Such a difficult language to learn for gaigin (foreigner), as many words are based on inflexion of voice e.g. hashi (sp?) means Chopsticks or Bridge, dpending on the inflexion of your voice at the end of the word.
I try to speak to my mother-in-law in japanese (who speaks as much english as my Japanese), but it becomes very frustrating...
