I'm getting heavily hacked off here, but still staying cos I've picked up some nice Oracle skills, and they pay dollar...but it is not taxing me really....
Do you think a course is necessary or a bit of hands on will do it?

The course was ok - just geeked out really, 9am to 9pm solid for 5 days locked away in a hotel at deepest Sussex. The firm payed for it, so it was definately necessary ;)

The course sounds good - I need a bit of that at the moment (I am getting agitated here now) - I'm hoping for a month layoff at the end of summer to do stuff lke that

And as for the Guerilla course - is that Ted Pattisons one from develop.com???
I'm scheduled to go in a couple of months, is it worth the money???
And did you do the C# or VB.NET.....

Gaffer, i'm doing loads of hands on at the moment, and I reckon I could get by with that - it's not that complex, but i'm doing the Guerilla course for my CV mainly, develop.com are pretty hardcore.....
Yup - I am, I have nothing booked for that weekend, so i'll go out on a limb and say Friday is good for me.....

It was Guerilla .Net - all of .Net, concentrating on C# as the main language (with a glance at vb and c++).
I beleive the next residential course at Goodwood is towards the backend of Feb.
Obviously the best thing about the course is the free DevelopMentor t-shirt at the end.
The worst thing about the course was the $5 it cost for a single whiskey in the bar in the the hick hotel we were staying at.

p.s. They do non-resedential courses, concentrating on just a paticular language, in Hamersmith.

I still think i'll go for the hick hotel bit, the standard course for vb.net is 1600 quid, so for 3k I may as well get the fully geeked out experience....

I'm not so good really, after spending 40 minutes on the phone to my accountants, I got them to admit they have lost about a third of 2 years worth of my company accounts.
I'm buying the house we live in at the moment, adn the LAST stage is a confimation of our salaries....which we can't get now...
