Wow... cool Zaei! Hey, I wrote the story for Mission 1 from Swarm's viewpoint, check it out!
Mission 2 is done.... I'm gonna go hit the sack. Good Night.
Open 'em locally, and then unzip them to aw folder. They have textures in there that need to work ;)
I'm awake.
OH MY GOD! I SAW THE TOWER WITH Contact 5.0! FREAKY!
Hey, I'm back from work
Kamikaze...Where are your mission 1 story? Where am I supposed to check it out?
Man I'm tired!
Anyways...I'm getting visitors tomorrow, and anotherone on monday, so I'll be kind of kept from working on this. However, Sas, can you re-post the detail...things. How many faces you want for each group, I mean. The low-poly skeleton will be kind of silly. Just like an original man, but another skin...:p How is everyone doing? I mean...are everyone making progress? It seems like it at least. :)
Keep up the good work, everyone, and we'll have a fully functional game in no time!
I'll just go and watch some nice tv-shows :)
Player colours and their benefits: A proposal
I believe that each player colour should carry small benefits so players can further customise their playing exprerience.
Red: +10% damage
Green: +25% farm yield
Blue: +25% morale
Grey: friendship levels go down 50% slower
Yellow: +10% armour
Black: has access to an extra negative spell
White: has access to an extra positive spell
Orange: +25% magic power taken from surroundings
Brown: +10% birth rate
Agree? Disagree?
Jorj: I agree.
Real Igor: What do you mean by 'skeleton'? Do you mean a kind of unit template or what?
I mean what I say: A skeleton. An undead unit consisting of the bones from a human put together. He's supposed to be modelled, and I'm just fooling around.
Shouldn't we have more differences? Are there different tech trees?
Oh...sorry
I thought what you weant was this is the differences to all the CIVs. Man I'm just too tired to think...
Sas, which units do you want me to model first? Should I continue with the peasent making him mid-, high- and ultra-poly, or just continue to a new low-poly so we get the idea of how things will look like? You decide
Hey Sas. The list you placed on the net. Is that the entire unit list? I had imagined myself a lot more...:( Plz can we add an orc? In the first release? please? =) And we need a skeleton. Undead units belong to the game, don't you think?
It seems, Igor, that we are heading toward a game with a complete world map. All campaign missions will take place on this map. It will be 34x19 km. I will probably be designing the world map that the game is actually played on. Scenarios, I think, are nothing more than sections of the one huge mission punctuated by objectives.
OK, So we have a GIGANTIC! map that has everything. But it won't be all playable at the same time, right? That would suck memory down the drain.
That has to be the biggest map the world has ever seen...
But in scenarios, won't you cut down the environment to only that which is necessary and useful to the player?
Sastraxi, I think I can be of some help. I spoke to *Jorj* and if you need a concept artist or a 3dsMax animator, I could be of some help. *Unfortunately, I don't have 3dsMax and probably won't se it for a long while. :( So I believe that I could be of some use yet as a concept artist. Talk to *Jorj*, he'll know who agent underscore is.
Welcome, Agentunderscore!
I'm glad you're with us. Do you have MSN Messenger?
who's your archrival, Agent Backspace?
I'm not sure how the map is being done by Zaei. All questions should go to him.
What name do you like best for Swarm, team:
A: Dopyilsaki
B: Kwatyak
C: Dreiwan
D: Tratus
E: Yeketu
F: Put up another list! These are all awful.
Sastraxi says:
iGoR, i noticed you posted, wanting to have orcs and skeletons.
iGoR says:
Nothing but that the peasent is somewhat finished
iGoR says:
yes, I feel the world should contain more monsters
Sastraxi says:
Skeletons I can do (raising dead), but I don't want orcs in the world.
iGoR says:
Any reason for that?
Jorj says:
I agree with Igor, but I think we can't include them right away.
Sastraxi says:
Okay, how about they become a monster of the week item or something? How about right after the game is on the net, we make these new monsters.
iGoR says:
I feel that would be somewhat...Jalla
Jorj says:
We could have a program that searches for updates when you get in the program.
Sastraxi says:
An autoupdater, yeah.
Jorj says:
So, in reality, very few people would be without orcs.
Sastraxi says:
yes
Sastraxi says:
unless they aren't online players or whatever
iGoR says:
The units that are best accepted are always the ones that are contained in the original package
Jorj says:
But I definitely think that we could use more monsters.
iGoR says:
Yes. In the release version.
Jorj says:
Perhaps, Igor, we could make more but have an option to turn them off.
Sastraxi says:
like a checkbox for extended monsters.
Jorj says:
If that doesn't suit the player.
iGoR says:
If we add the monsters after, they'll be some klind of extra feature, and I don't want that
Jorj says:
They'll be in the original release then?
Sastraxi says:
Yeah
Sastraxi says:
They'll be AVAILABLE at the original release, but you don't have to download them...?
Jorj says:
I just don't want to create unnecessary stress on our modeller, but if you want it, Igor...
Jorj says:
It's possible.
iGoR says:
You see. I want to put all my effort to make this game the best it can be
Jorj says:
I agree.
iGoR says:
But if so, I would really add a couple of more units to our world
Jorj says:
Sastraxi, we can put orcs in the actual release version with that checkbox.
Jorj says:
It can be done.
GoR says:
I read your list, Sas, but I didn't quite understand it.
iGoR says:
Is it so that every unit can mount horses and stuff?
Sastraxi says:
yes
Sastraxi says:
and air mounts, and sea mounts
iGoR says:
Ok. So the 'Stable' or whatever will only produce horses, not horsemen
Sastraxi says:
yep
Sastraxi says:
we thought that would be a twist out of the ordinary
Sastraxi says:
a nice twist, that is
iGoR says:
Then you need to train your units to make them able to use horses then
iGoR says:
yes it is
Sastraxi says:
well, they all have basic horse training
Are we still going with that night-thing
iGoR says:
?
Sastraxi says:
yes
Jorj says:
Yes.
Sastraxi says:
brb
iGoR says:
Then. We should have a 'Tired' state, and when they're tired, they must go to their houses to sleep.
iGoR says:
If they don't they fight a lot worse...
Jorj says:
Do you think that would detract from the gameplay?
Jorj says:
If your soldiers were in enemy territory?
Jorj says:
Perhaps only peasants would sleep.
Jorj says:
Just a thought.
KamiKazeKiwi3 has been added to the conversation.
iGoR says:
I think you should have all your units sleeping
iGoR says:
That way you must control routines on defence and stuff and remember to wake up your soldiers at night
Sastraxi says:
well i think that would detract from the game.
Sastraxi says:
I think that may be a bit too much micromanagement
Jorj says:
I like the idea, though.
iGoR says:
ok...just a thought
Jorj says:
How can we put it in without making it too hard.
Jorj says:
?
Sastraxi says:
it's too bad it wouldn't work that way
iGoR says:
But then, the night thing wont do anything good but the dark, then
Jorj says:
The peasants would sleep.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Oops! YOu uys are all here and I was away!
Sastraxi says:
maybe we could have only the peasants sleep, like jorj suggested
Sastraxi says:
heh
Jorj says:
Hi!
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Peasants onl, and Hi!
iGoR says:
That seems kind of silly, don't you think?
Jorj says:
Soldiers couldfight worse in the night.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
hehe
Sastraxi says:
well not really, how about standing still gives you sleep
Jorj says:
To simulate sleep.
Sastraxi says:
or rest at least
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
WHy must we have sleep!
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
?
iGoR says:
But then an attack at night would be just stupidity
Sastraxi says:
real igor suggested it
Sastraxi says:
why?
Sastraxi says:
it would be harder to see enemy units
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
If we do that, it'll screw things up.
Sastraxi says:
well yes it would
Sastraxi says:
thats why jorj and i are suggesting only the peasants sleep
iGoR says:
Yeah, but then I rather think we should just skip it
Sastraxi says:
okay then
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Because that means time would pass, which means you could be days in a battle and it would screw up the story.
Jorj says:
No night?
Sastraxi says:
yes night
iGoR says:
yes, night but no sleep
Sastraxi says:
okay
Jorj says:
Ok.
Sastraxi says:
Actually, brownies go into a house and help with the housework, raising the birthrate of the house*
*Boggarts do the opposite.
iGoR says:
But how much are the damage? Will 40 hp be much?
Sastraxi says:
a peasant will die from a warrior in 2 hits.
Sastraxi says:
(about that)
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Yeah, 40 should be good.
Jorj says:
What kind of warrior?
Sastraxi says:
warrior
iGoR says:
How about everybody (every human) has 40 hp, but the armor is the thing that counts?
Sastraxi says:
no, that would take a lot away from gameplay
iGoR says:
You think?
iGoR says:
ok then
Jorj says:
Wait, Sastraxi.
Sastraxi says:
i mean it's a realistic approach,
Sastraxi says:
...?
iGoR says:
yeah...and that's a bad thing?
Jorj says:
Perhaps, armour's role should be increased.
Sastraxi says:
but sometimes gameplay is over realism
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Whats a Drage?
iGoR says:
yeah, cause after all, they're all men...
Jorj says:
HP could go up... just a bit.
Jorj says:
Or not.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
But they are better trained
iGoR says:
Drage is Norwegian for Dragon...
Sastraxi says:
hehe
Jorj says:
Yes.
Sastraxi says:
remember drage igotr
Sastraxi says:
yeah
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
OK! ORDER IN THE COURT!
Sastraxi says:
Hp goes up a bit less, but armour plays an important role.
Sastraxi says:
just a second, I want to update the site with a bit of stuff
iGoR says:
Yes, I think that is a good idea. As better fighters, they don't increase their hp, just their skills.
iGoR says:
Skeleton was something you raised, right?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Skeleton can become Necromancer
Jorj says:
How?
iGoR says:
And a necromancer can raise skeletons, right?
Jorj says:
A mage can raise skeletons.
Sastraxi says:
yes, a mage can
Jorj says:
I think.
Sastraxi says:
brb
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Okay, than can we add the ability to make mages Necromancers through training?
Jorj says:
Sastraxi?
iGoR says:
How about a second level mage can change into a Necromancer, and then not into a 3rd lever sorcerer
iGoR says:
A necromancer can raise things like skeletons and nightmares
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Oooh...
(time passes)
iGoR says:
So are we settled with this?
Jorj says:
Sastraxi, are you all right with the necromancer idea?
iGoR says:
Will we have a necromancer thing in our game?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Ya ya, please?
Sastraxi says:
yes it sounds okay
Sastraxi says:
I'll add it to my unit list
(time passes)
GoR says:
So...the sorcerer can turn into Necromancer, then into Dark Lord or something... A necro can raise skeletons and 'Dark Lord' can raise Zombies and Wraiths
iGoR says:
Is that good?
Sastraxi says:
hmmm....
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
My local magical unitas expert (David) has told me Necromancers basic expertise is raising dead people
iGoR says:
And these guys are, right?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
What are Wraiths?
iGoR says:
Or how about the Dark Lord can upgrade the skeleton instead
iGoR says:
Wraiths are more like the Grim Reaper
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
oh ya..... scary.
iGoR says:
hehe, yeah
Sastraxi says:
how about with more kills, skeletons turn into zombies, then wraiths
iGoR says:
Hmmm, yeah. Like..If they kill enhough, they develop skin, and in the end, they get their very own hood!
Jorj says:
Skeletons cannot grow flesh into zombies.
Jorj says:
Can they?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
From the people they kill!
iGoR says:
The skeletons gather skin from their victims and sew it together
Jorj says:
Perhaps zombies could come from freshly dead people.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
eww.
iGoR says:
yeah
iGoR says:
and in the end, they get their very own hood!
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
heh
iGoR says:
The wraiths are really powerful. Touch of death and stuff
GoR says:
The peasents
iGoR says:
Have we agreed upon his abilities?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
...I think so.
Jorj says:
I can speak for Sastraxi.
Jorj says:
What do you have in mind?
iGoR says:
What are the peasent's abilities?
Jorj says:
Chop trees.
Jorj says:
Build buildings.
Jorj says:
Mine.
Jorj says:
Hunt.
Jorj says:
Fish.
Jorj says:
Farm.
Jorj says:
Fight.
Jorj says:
(limitedly)
Jorj says:
Be upgraded.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Farming, Eating, Loathing, Swiming, Mountain Climbing
iGoR says:
I mean besides that
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Loathing is not limited
Jorj says:
What would he be loathing?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
the enemy!
Jorj says:
Good.
iGoR says:
I think the bandit should be 'Cannot Mount' rather than 'Cannot dismount'. Or would that make it difficult on hit and runs, pherhaps?
Jorj says:
I'll ask Sastraxi when he comes back.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Can't he be able to go on foot?
iGoR says:
How do you define a paladin?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Big armored man
iGoR says:
No...the bandit can't
iGoR says:
Yeah. WarCraft used him as a sort of 'Holy Knight'. I dunno
Jorj says:
The bandit is the dismounted form of the raider.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Hey! Peasants can loathe the enemy to death!
Jorj says:
The web page is wrong, I think.
iGoR says:
What's loathe?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Pronunciation: 'lO[th]
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form : loathed; loath·ing
Etymology: Middle English lothen, from Old English lAthian to dislike, be hateful, from lAth
Date: 12th century
: to dislike greatly and often with disgust or intolerance : DETEST
iGoR says:
So...?
iGoR says:
When you loath somebody, you hate them? is that it?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
We can have them loathe the enemy so much, their morale will go into the negatives, and they'll join the peasants.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
lol
iGoR says:
You mean create a riot? Lol
iGoR says:
To loathe your peasents: Gater them in the town hall, make them very angry by raising the taxes and tell them that the enemy did it
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
lol
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Okay, Jorj, what's the next topic? Are are we still not done?
iGoR says:
No, I want to know what we'll do with the paladins.
Jorj says:
All right: Paladin topic opened!
iGoR says:
ARE they magical knights?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
No
iGoR says:
ARE they regular knights, just a bit more pro?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Pronunciation: 'pa-l&-d&n
Function: noun
Etymology: French, from Italian paladino, from Medieval Latin palatinus courtier, from Late Latin, imperial official -- more at PALATINE
Date: 1592
1 : a trusted military leader (as for a medieval prince)
2 : a leading champion of a cause
iGoR says:
He's more like a general?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Something near. He's a strong, pro, knight.
iGoR says:
ok. And he cannot walk?
iGoR says:
(Cannot Dismount)...
Jorj says:
I think Sastraxi wanted them to be knights who commanded a strong presence.
iGoR says:
He's lame from his kneecaps and down
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
He's mounted, and uses a big 'spear', It was jousting. Did i spell it right?
Jorj says:
Giving morale to the surrounding soldiers like a hero would.
Jorj says:
Yes you're right.
iGoR says:
Like a leader of the army...a kind of fake hero then...
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
more or less
iGoR says:
Or would you rather say that all the Paladins are heroes...or vice versa?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
....
Jorj says:
Heroes... We need Sastraxi for this.
Sastraxi has been added to the conversation.
iGoR says:
When you talk about the sun....
Jorj says:
Take over, Sastraxi.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
17.5 mins, close enough
Sastraxi says:
hmmm...?
Sastraxi says:
what should I do?
iGoR says:
Sas...were discussing paladins
Sastraxi says:
oh okay
Sastraxi says:
morale-boost
Sastraxi says:
they boost the morale of those around them
iGoR says:
Yeah, like a general
Sastraxi says:
yes, but not exactly a general
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Sas boosts my morale.
Sastraxi says:
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
hehe
iGoR says:
Ok...what is a general then?
iGoR says:
who is the general?
Jorj says:
Are generals heroes?
Sastraxi says:
yes
iGoR says:
ok
iGoR says:
So all the generals are heroes
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Me! Or atleast, while im writing the story.
Sastraxi says:
the heroes are generals, and you can also promote a unit to general when there isn't one
iGoR says:
AND vice versa?
iGoR says:
Are all the heroes generals?
Sastraxi says:
yes
Sastraxi says:
they are
Sastraxi says:
but you start out with one hero
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
But in campaign, generals cannot die.
iGoR says:
And will the paladins fight like a regular unit?
Sastraxi says:
and very unlikely that youw ill get another
Sastraxi says:
or else you lose.
iGoR says:
Or rather...they're not allowed to die...
Sastraxi says:
but there was an idea of fallback scenarios and objectives
Sastraxi says:
like if your general dies, you must retreat back to your base
iGoR says:
Hmmm
Sastraxi says:
or something
Sastraxi says:
or if your castle falls to the enemies, you must rally all the troops and escape the castle
Can we discuss the dragon's stats?
Sastraxi says:
sure...
Sastraxi says:
i'd say hp 150
iGoR says:
I'd say a lot more
Sastraxi says:
really?
iGoR says:
I'd say a Dragon should be quite superior
Sastraxi says:
yeah, maybe you're right
Sastraxi says:
300 hp?
iGoR says:
More like 500
iGoR says:
Or that may depend on the dragon
Sastraxi says:
that would be drage i would thinl
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
500 too high
Sastraxi says:
*think
Sastraxi says:
how about 250 and 400
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Drage is 400
Sastraxi says:
yea
Sastraxi says:
i think those are pretty good stats
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Dragon is 200
Sastraxi says:
200?
Sastraxi says:
I think 250 would be a bit better
iGoR says:
Dragon is 250
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Can we put a extra dragon?
Sastraxi says:
what do you mean?
Sastraxi says:
another dragon type?
iGoR says:
And Drage has like 600
iGoR says:
Extremely superior
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
No!
Sastraxi says:
like a drake, a dragon, and a drage?
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Yes
Jorj says:
Sorry, I'm back.
iGoR says:
Or a Wyvern
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Hi
Jorj says:
Guys, I think that we should have a different dragon for each faction.
Jorj says:
Hi.
iGoR says:
Wyvern, Drake, Dragon, Drage
Jorj says:
I can handle the names and statistics.
Sastraxi says:
okay then
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Why don't we change dragon skin color per faction
Sastraxi says:
let's let jorj figure that out
iGoR says:
Aren't Dragons random monsters like the brownie...
Sastraxi says:
we'll do some of that with all of the units, don't worry
Sastraxi says:
kind of
iGoR says:
So we can't have one for each faction
Sastraxi says:
but they usually don't fly around, only over volcanos and such
Sastraxi says:
we can
Sastraxi says:
maybe 1 every 2 factions
Sastraxi says:
or something
Jorj says:
Like: Linnorm, Wyvern, Classic, et cetera
Jorj says:
Amphisbaena
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
We could have mages make them out of resources, but It would take a while, and a few mages
Sastraxi says:
...
Sastraxi says:
everyone quiet for a few minutes and let me explain the magic system
Jorj says:
It doesn't really matter to me how you acquire dragons.
Jorj says:
Oops. Sorry.
Sastraxi says:
okay
Sastraxi says:
let me explain.
Sastraxi says:
Magic is gathered from the environment around the magi.
Sastraxi says:
No qs plsz
Sastraxi says:
just let me finish
Sastraxi says:
This detracts a bit from the environment, and adds to the mage's magic power.
Sastraxi says:
Then, a mage casts a spell. If the spell succeeds, the desired effect happens. If not, the mage takes a considerable amount of damage.
Sastraxi says:
If the mage dies, a lot of magic power is released back into the environment
iGoR says:
So if a mage dies, he'll build a mountain?
iGoR says:
sorry
Sastraxi says:
There are also magic 'batteries' which gather a little energy over a lot of time
Sastraxi says:
they don't take from the environment.
Sastraxi says:
Okay, what I mean from detracts and gives to is this:
Sastraxi says:
Detracts - makes everything bad for farming and look bad (turns a forest, maybe, over time, into a wasteland)
Sastraxi says:
gives to is the opposite
Sastraxi says:
so they damage the environment, and everything becomes bare and dry.
Sastraxi says:
I'm done.
iGoR says:
ök
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Scary!
iGoR says:
You aquire dragons with dragon tamers... <-They're called Dragoons
iGoR says:
Just for clearing that up
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Oh ya, i forgot that
Sastraxi says:
ok, well i have to go.
Sastraxi says:
sorry about that, if you guys want to make a transcript, go right ahead
iGoR says:
But are we having Summoning spells in the game?
Sastraxi says:
yes'
Jorj says:
Dragoons are 17th century cavalry units.
iGoR says:
These will be, except raising dead...:?
Sastraxi says:
you can, to an extent, try to get a certain monster, but the results of a summoning spell are unpredicatable.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
so can't we decay the forest, in exchange for a dragon?
Sastraxi says:
yes you can
Sastraxi says:
but you may get a brownie instead
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
heh
Sastraxi says:
if your mage isn't that good.
Jorj says:
You just don't know what you'll get/
Sastraxi says:
nope
Sastraxi says:
okay i will see you guys later
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Just like Forest Gump.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Bye
Sastraxi has left the conversation.
Jorj says:
Like this:
Jorj says:
1st upgrade: Total HP: 40
Jorj says:
2nd: 60
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
Dragons or mages?
Jorj says:
3rd: 200
iGoR says:
Of who? the dragons?
Jorj says:
Mages.
KamiKazeKiwi3 says:
OK
iGoR says:
ok
iGoR says:
Not 200 hp
Jorj says:
That's an example of how much HP the mage can summon.
Jorj says:
Not the mage's HP.
iGoR says:
oh...
Jorj says:
And those aren't the real numbers.
Ok. Last night this hit me. Memory is going to be a problem. For a 32kx32k map, it will require exactly 2 gigs of RAM. This will not work =). The simple solution to this problem consists of 3 parts. 1) Reduce the map to 4kx4k. (32 megs of RAM required)
2) reduce unit sizes by approximately 10 fold.
3) lower the players viewpoint.
These three combined basically scale the map up. It also reduces the number of terrain textures to 16 =). I wanted to get this, so i didnt read over all of the transcripts, so i will get back to you on all of that later.
And yes, it will be the biggest map ever seen, and you will be able to travel to any part at any time (it just might take your units an hour to get there) >=).
Z.
I 'cast my vote' so to speak for #1. I say we give a cap of 4x4 maps. Also, Tratus sounds like a good name.
I'm back.
No, Sas. We do all three, and it will look pretty much the same as before, with the 32kx32k map.
Z.
Hmmm... Wait a second. Do you mean, by doing these things, that it would look exactly the same as before?
On the topic of Damage and HP, here is thread I was participating in over on GameDev.net. I think it is an excellent model for damage, and armor. Let me know what you guys think. Here is the link... http://www.gamedev.net/community/for...topic_id=55548 . Here is another one... http://www.gamedev.net/community/for...topic_id=55656 .
Z.
I won't say that it will look exactly the same, but It will still be far from unacceptable.
Z.
Ok. I am getting a respectable 33 FPS running a 2049x2049 meter map, 100 FPS when the player is sitting still, or rotating. I am still optimizing the Update Code (which takes more time then rendering does...).
Z.
I've created a program that takes a grayscale bitmap and a texture, and turns them into an elevation grid world file (VRML).
Here it is, I added an example that I made.
I have good news. When the game is in beta testing and the such, I friend of mine said he'll volunterr to test it.
Great news!
You mean my news or something you gonna say?
Mission 1 through 5, Swarm, are finished!
Mmk. The terrain is still not perfect, but I think that only one more thing needs to be added, and it will be. I have managed to speed up the moving FPS to ~50.
Z.
I've also got some buddies who might want to Beta test it. But I guess it'll be a while until that...:p
By the way, don't MESS with this guy. He has 690 polys(faces) I guess that leaves him in the HighRes group. Or can I count out the weapon?
Ooops. I forgot to post his picture...:D
I will be starting a review of the units. Some will be spared... some will be broken! Just kidding. I'm subjecting each of them to a rigourous test of purpose. I'll give my verdicts later.
Real Igor, could you do some models based on the concept artwork that has already been done? (the coloured ones though, don't use mine or Jorj's yet) Then when new concept artwork comes out, you could do that, and so on...
Yeah, I know, and I will. It's just this particular model was so easy to do after making the previous peasent. What do you think of it, by the way?
Next up, I think I'll make the mage/sorcerer/genie in a bottle/whatever in a red hood. But that might take a while. just telling you. BTW. The low-poly one will sit on a cloud...That's all I can affoard :p
I'm AWAKE! FEAR ME FOR MY AIR CONDITOINER BROKE DOWN LAST NIGHT!
Sorry Igor, you'll have to do it all, I'm afraid =)
I need one thing from the team before I start my reviews.
A counter-circle:
e.g. Swordsman kills Archer > Archer kills Knight > Knight kills Swordsman
I'll do that!
I believe it's:
cavalry -> archer -> swordsman -> pikeman -> cavalry -> archer -> ...
yes
I'm gonna post a new version of the story a put up yesterday that uses Zaei's idea to make the user play properly in the giant map by using time limits.
Zaei, how would we have our map connect to another map if we expanded the game?
Here is the skin
I can do some 3d modelling for you guys, im out of practice when it comes to organics, but I can give it a shot. But I'm pretty good when it comes to inorganic.

Ok, Cbomb. Just check with Sastraxi that it's ok that you join the team. And you'll have to have the time to work. AND you'll need MSN messenger to communicate with everyone. Ok? And we'll stay ion touch, I guess...:P
Here's the different detaillevels:
LOW: 200-300 faces
MID: 500 faces
HIGH: 600-700 faces
ULTRA: Somewhere around 2000 faces

For email: [email protected]
OK, the model will look..well crappy..lol..but ill try
[Edited]
Hey just had a thought...how bout taking free models off the net and modifying them?...That ok?
On behalf of Sastraxi and the members of Crystal Rain Entertainment, I'd like to welcome Cbomb to the Times of War Development Team.
You are welcome to start modelling anything on the concept art page that is by Norman_Nomein (in colour). As Real Igor said, the Warrior of the Blade is a good place to start.
Soon, we'll have a buildings list up. The buildings and units will have a mediaeval style to them.
Have you played Age of Empires? If so, then you'll know what kind of non-human structures we plan on having.
If not, there are trees, birds, animals, rocks, et cetera.
If you like modelling buildings, you could try a hut. The hut is a small, low-class home.
Welcome aboard!
