To the all-holy leader:
A bunch of people on the project are just doing graphics, client GUIs, Flash animation, etc. That's cool, but we are forgetting the most important and difficult part of the project: the back-end server to support the whole mess.
I have been playing around with some Java code to make a server. (BTW, Java's slow speed is a myth; on modern computers it runs nearly as fast as C++.) I chose Java because it is multithreaded, and VB is not exactly the best language for a server. :) But I can't do it alone.

Java slow speed is not a myth dude... its slow as hell if you use applets (and the objecs included)

and VB well.. using vb to create a server.. yah.. not the smartest idea but you can use it to build a prototype protocol that will be used... and port that server to java when its done.. (port = recode ;) ) -

Well mister 'I programmed professionaly so i am right', certain objects in JAVa (certaintly anything with Gui based objects) is almost 45% SLOWER in redraw/refresh then any VB or C++ created objects.

The GUI is the slowest part. But since the server will be nearly entirely console-based, that is not an issue. And no language beats Java's multithreading.
ASM beats any code... though it requires a lill' more typing ;)
Well, assembly is easier to use than BASIC. :D :D
