So I updated it.
I also asked ChatGPT take make suggestions to the content I already had.
I'm not the best writer, so there was a bunch of grammatical and spelling errors before.
Some of the suggestions I did a rote copy/paste.
But for the most part, I ignored it or cherry-picked what I wanted to change.
Well, you didn't tell people how to make glass, or how to destroy a company you don't like.
Tutorials on how to code in language L are all very well. They cover the basics, but never cover much beyond the basics for the simple reason that once you get beyond the basics, the field widens beyond any reasonable scope.
Programming is like a funnel...or an inverted funnel, I can't decide which. There's a narrow set of basic elements, beyond that it expands exponentially.
However, what might be getting ahead of things (I haven't looked), would be a tutorial on how to use an LLM like ChatGPT to get it to generate code, or good code.

Unless I hit the lottery, I have another 30ish years of navigating this workspace.
It does seem that most coding will be done by AI pretty soon. So do you try and master AI or stay ahead of it, if possible??? It's a tuff situation.
I'd say a lot of analytical jobs are facing this question.
Is this really your last week before retirement?
Heck, tomorrow is my last day in the office. Technically, I don't retire for almost another two months, but I'll be on vacation for all of that. I do have a few things to get done, but it will be from home only, and there won't be much.
Now you'll have time for fishing. You staying in Idaho?
Holy smokes, that's huge. Congratulations!
I'll stay here for a year or two, due to recreational options. I doubt I'll stay longer than that.
I might have got scammed out of some personal info today. Thought it was my insurance company calling and I verified my ID with my date of birth and zip. Then I got suspicious and hung up.
That's not real private stuff but it bothers me.
When someone calls and asks for me to confirm information, I tell them that I will not do it, but I have no problem calling them to confirm. 9 times out of 10, if it is legit then they will walk me through the process of getting in touch with the right person.
I usually don't even answer these calls but I just so happen to be changing insurances and thought it might be important.
This one was automated so there wasn't anyone to call back. I thought after the verification I would get a representative. But it asked me to take a survey. That's when I hung up.
Scammers are always looking for clever new approaches.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see if they can use that info some how.
Only two times (that I know of) has anyone tried to scam me. The first scammer tried the Nigerian prince thing, but it was dropped into my physical mailbox, but it didn't have the obvious German postal stamp to show it went through the German post. Other people in our village also recieved this letter around the same time. It started shortly after we acquired new neighbors, who then hightailed out of town right before the police started looking for them.
The second time, a fake Windows support person called my house, said my system contacted Microsoft to report a trojan, so they wanted to assist me in removing it, but I had to install software so they could remotely clean my system. When my son asked who was on the phone, I said "I don't know Lieutenant", and they hunged up.
The first time somebody tried to spam me, it was fried. Not my favorite, but edible.
Fried spam sandwiches, yum. Not health but very tasty.
Not my favorite.
Ham should not be spiced.
I'm doing a Dr. Pepper ham for Thanksgiving.
My daughter loves it, though it's a gigantic pain in the rear to make.
Speaking of, I should probably take out my turkey.
Rephrased because that sounds a bit dirty: I should probably take the turkey out of the freezer.
Yeah, it usually takes@ 4 days for a turkey to thaw in the frig.
I'm going to grill rib eyes for Thanksgiving.
I'm going all out with the proteins this year. I'm deep frying a turkey, making shrimp jambalaya, a chicken and sausage gumbo, smoking a Cajun sausage called ponce (think trinity, dark roux, sweet potato, and spicy pork cooked in a pig's stomach), a Dr. Pepper ham, and carrots and ground meat. Just about the only thing I don't have is steaks.
Sounds very Cajun. Also sounds like a tremendous amount of work for one person. Hope you have help.
Smart not to do steaks, the price of beef is crazy. I ended up buying a prime rib and cutting it into steaks. The precut steaks were all to thin for grilling.
I plan on doing some of the cooking the night before and then reheating during the day (like the ham and gumbo). The shrimp jambalaya won't be difficult, I can get it ready and just have my wife watch over it, and the ponce is just throwing it in the oven. Really the only thing the day of that I'll really need to pay close attention to is the turkey. It's the first time I'm deep frying one and I'm a bit nervous about it because the largest thing I've deep fried has been fish (and those are usually thin).
I think what actually going to take the most time is going to be the sides and my wife said that she'll be handling most of that
Your wife will be handling the sides? Guess you SHOULD take that turkey out.
Deep fried turkey is awesome, so long as you don't burn your house down. That is NOT awesome.
I'm doing a ham. I might be doing a bit of food poisoning, first, though. We'll see tomorrow. Not feeling right, at the moment.
Ohh, I had something this past weekend. Started last Wednesday and by Saturday I was really hurting. Sunday, I told my wife that if I wasn't feeling better that I would call in sick. Then Monday I woke up just fine like nothing ever happened.

I did not sleep well last night. Whenever I fell asleep, I would start making lists. Lists of words, lists of objects, just lists of everything. I'd then count the items in the lists, then subdivide such that I was counting things like suffixes, word length, and so on, then I'd count those lists. I'd then wake up and my feet hurt. I'd focus on my feet for a couple seconds, they would stop hurting...then I'd go back to sleep and repeat the sequence. Every half hour for hours. It was not restful.
Maybe that was your inner Santa coming out. Making a list and checking it twice. :)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Get back in the kitchen, you got work to do. :)
Happy Thanksgiving.
Guess I'm skipping Thanksgiving. I'll do something in a day or two.
I'm still down. Haven't eaten much in the last two days. No symptoms other than a fever that runs hot and cold. I'll be shaking so hard my ribs hurt, then I'll be sweating profusely a few hours later.
That sucks. Stay hydrated, that's all the advise I got. :(
Good luck
I hydrated the holy hell out of my bed last night. I was apparently drenched with sweat throughout the night. I considered getting up and changing the sheets at midnight, but realized I'd also need to take a shower to make it worthwhile, and even then, I'd probably just keep sweating....which was true, because I flipped the pillow over and both sides were soaked by morning.
It worked, though. No fever and I'm feeling fine.
Taking it easy today. Might do Thanksgiving dinner today. I basically haven't eaten for the last three days.
Not feeling woolly, either.
I read an article yesterday about research of why we run a fever when we have a virus infection. It sort of said that the fever is fighting the virus and it might be better not to grab the Tylenol. But their not sure exactly how the fever works. There's basically two theories. One, the heat helps kill the virus. Two, the heat triggers the immune system the work harder against the virus.
I probably got that all wrong. But I just happen to see the article not long after reading your post and it caught my interest.
