What are your qualifications and how do you see yourself helping? We are probably set for members for now, but I have a running list of people to consider after the project gets going more. Not that I am rejecting you outright. If you have something to contribute then we will definitely consider you. :)
I would like everyone to know that my new computer is now being built, so I can finally get going on this project once it's complete. The linker and compiler is gonna kick my ***, but if I can handle major complex 3D engines in DirectX, I can handle anything. ;)
Why is it going to kick your ***? Thats awesome that your computer is being built though. I was starting to get kinda frustrated that I felt this project was going nowhere.
Well with me being computerless, the linker and compiler isn't going nowhere until my machine is built.

Jeeze PG! Where did you get such awesome skills? What program do you use?
I like them all a lot. The "Making your programming dreams come true" is kind of a lame quote (even though I am using it and I thought it up). Also, I am kinda iffy on the .r0x0rz = True (plus I think r0x0r has 2 x's).
As far as which style/color I like, I can't really decide. They all rock. Black looks awesome, but the other 2 look more professional. Thanks so much man, I am sure that took some time. I really appriciate it.
Could you try taking out the quote and .r0x0r part so we can see how it looks? Maybe also try bringing the { }'s down to the sides. I am not sure if it would look as good though. I like black but we should probably stick to blue... but maybe not.

Unless we come up with some better slogan I could just size it down (vertically) so it doesn't look as bare.
Also I still think we should have some sort of symbol as well (which would work better with the icon and the small button). I thought of a lightning strike but that's a bit sort of clichéd :)

The first one looks kinda good. Mybe if the brackets didn't line up perfectly with the bottom and top, it might look better. Not sure though... What do you think?
I think the symbol is important. Maybe could use something to do with fusion? Nuclear? I will google for fusion and light and light fusion i suppose.
EDIT: PS - The second one (that is more grey) matches the IDE better because of the stylized menus, but I can change those colors if I chose. I still think I like the blue one more. But other people will have opinions later today I am sure. ;)

Looking good. You can do some awesome stuff in that program. I'm not sure I like the orange in the middle. Also, I think we should have the braces closer rather than farther. Maybe have them ALMOST in line with the text, but just slightly raised/lowered on each side. Have them be a little close to perfectly lined up than they are in post #617.
Even though that symbol we have i pretty common, the way they are anglesd makes it kind of unique, but that wouldn't show up in an icon. It looks pretty good though.

Pengate, RD kinda has a point about it looking like a flower. Maybe if we got rid of the center orange thing it would look better. Also, I was thinking that maybe our logo could be that fusion symbol with braces around it. I'm not sure if we should use that or not though. What are your thoughts? You have a say in this too.

I think the logo should look futuristic with some laser lighting or something spectacular. Something that would draw lots of attention.

Jake, you didn't answer my PM or DG's question about your website and hosting the IDE.
I have a website setup but the hosting's tools for it is way too confusing, so I gave up on it. :(

The IDE is coming along nicely. As far as the comiler/linker I couldn't tell you because Jake doens't update us too often. He is in the process of doing research on linkers I think and his computer is being built.
Nice logo datacide. I assume you made it? I like the slogan. Maybe penagate can get some insperation from that.
Penagate is assigned mostly to the library so he can't do anything until Jake has a big chunk of the work done. But hes is still reading the thread and offering suggestions is an exteremely helpful thing to do at this point. The more feedback we can get the better.
Can you tell me more about the website you can offer? Would I have to send you files before you could upload them or would I have some sort of direct access to the host (PS - I don't have any form of FTP available to use ... Long story). You can PM me if you wish or post here.

Maybe we should have Coding The Future as the logo. Coding tommorow sounds kinda weird. Other than that its looking pretty good. The underline going behind the fusion symbol looks a little werid but also good at the same time.
I like the way the second one fades off to the right. The color on it is good too. Matches the IDE menus, but I can change those to any color so its not a big deal. Blue is good too.
The G looks a LOT better.

(Bad) spotlighting
Thats AWESOME penagate. Freaking amazing. The last thing I can think of is making the background color a little more blue. Maybe not quite as blue as the one a few posts above, but somewhere inbetween.
You're a genius dude. Did you take classes to do this. Thanks a million for all the time you are spending on it. I know it can be a pain to do stuff for other people some times, but I really appriciate it.
EDIT: Also, could you maybe put the "Coding The Future" in Courier New. I am not sure if it would look good or not, but it might. Also maybe with a // or some other coding characters around it. Its not a big deal though. It looks good how it is.
I liked the dark one, but with lighting effects it would be very cool.

I don't really like th spotlight one all that much. The effect is kind of weird I didn't even see the spotlights in it until just now, it looks like a textured background to me with HUGE sections as the texture.
The color is good and I like the slogan.

Here is an icon I threw together from the image in my sig. It looks bad in 16x16 but on the desktop (32x32) it looks awesome.
EDIT: Penagate, can you go back to the logo from post #648, just with a background that is more blue. I like the way the light is off to one side. Also adding the //'s was good. Maybe use the colors of blue you used back at the beggining when you were posting Blue/Black/Grey logos. That blue was good.
