meat-eaters vs vegetarians

how many vegetarians are there on vbf?If you are a meat-eater or a vegie explain why you have chosen your choice.

I eat both.

But I prefer to socialize with vegetarians, as I know they won't randomly take a chunk out of my arm.

What is 'vegetarian' ? :confused:

I personally am a vegie because i don't like the thought of something that was a living animal inside me.because you don't know what that animal has been eating.

you also don't know what a plant has absorbed from the soil - better stop eating them too.

I hang out with meat.

I love eating veggies but I'm a meat mincer too.

I am not a vegetarian because I don't think I can put up the holier-than-thou attitude for more than a day.

When I make one of my famous prime rib roasts with celery seeds all over it does that qualify as both :D

If you are going to drink Italian red wine you need meat - so the question is basically meaningless to me :p

I only eat vegetables if I want to slim, as im a bloke thats never, meat feast pizza all the way.

Problem is my cookers broken, so im stuck on microwave dinners :(

I eat meat because I love it, however I would just like to point out that I
also eat some vegetables to get a balanced diet.

Vegetarians tend to miss out on a lot of things they need to stay healthy
which means they need to pop a lot of pills for vitamins etc.

Technically speaking, wouldn't having more meat eaters keep down the price of meat since the price of meat can be spread over lots of people compared to a higher price to compensate for the fewer meat eaters?

If the world was like 95% vegetarian, then yes. Otherwise no.

I'm not sure at the exact tipping point where meat prices go up because the lack of demand is so severe that overhead for an industry drives up prices but I think it's at least 10% or less meat eaters.

You cook/barbeque/fry the meat, so that any parasites or bacterias will die.
The meat is also checked for diseases before it is shipped to the supermarked.

In england they make the cows fight to the death and then eat the losers.

And the winners are then given a prize trip to the slaughter house :afrog:

I eat meat...chicken, turkey, and fish mostly. We eat a bit of pork; maybe twice a month; and we hardly ever eat beef for environmental reasons. We try to have a veggie dinner at least once a week tho it's difficult. I was raised in Texas, where meat makes the meal.

No, it's because it takes 70-80 calories of energy to produce a single calorie of beef. It's basically one of the most inefficient sources of protein to produce and should be eaten only occasionally, if ever.

Ok - that's just not true...

Basic high school chemistry.

Cooking and boiling doesn't get rid of anything - nothing is gone!

It's simply gets changed - and what it becomes isn't always better :p

I'm a vegetarian now... ate meat for a while, wasn't really fussed about it, then decided to go vegan...

Now I tend to eat cheese and a little fish, but thats about it...

I wouldn't really eat any meat anymore... except maybe bacon... mmm... bacon... *drooling sounds* :D
