I guess my work with www.mozilla.fi is enough.
Nice work Merri. I can't understand a word but it looks great :) Is it just you running that site? I only found your name.
I made the design and did the most work to make things run. I've written a few articles as well and I keep the blog up to date often. We got the hosting for free, the whole Finnish localization team is behind the site. It got pretty hot in the news after we opened it, even though the site wasn't ready (and still isn't, we do it on our free time after all).
The page authors are hidden in meta tags.
I see :) So that is the Finnish localisation of all Mozilla products I guess.
Nice design :thumb:
Don't you mod the Finnish Firefox forum also?
What's firefox?
It's kind of like a chipmunk I think.
Deer Park Alpha2 is better than firefox, even though its still in alpha. You can use normal firefox extensions with deerpark.
Weirdly enough, Deer Park is branded as Firefox in localized builds :)
Penagate: the Firefox forum is now the forum of Mozilla.fi, moved it there :) It is a all-in-one site. Atleast it will be once it is finished.
Interesting tr333, I was under the impression Deer Park, ah, was Firefox :D
Merri: Cool, maybe we should start a list of all Firefox resources (in the first post perhaps)? The main ones, and then all the localised websites and forums.
The "Tell us all about it" button is attached here.
I've converted about 6 users, who never looked back, with the exception of my father, who had barely gotten used to IE. The only time he uses it is when he clicks on it accidentally :)
i would still be using deerpark if someone hadnt had the idea to create Camino, the mozilla browser designed for OS X.
We're lacking Finnish translator for Camino :/
Merri, you seem to have a lot of spare time, why don't you volunteer? :DQuote:

forefix... blast! Firefax... damn! Fireflux... oh bugger, I give up.
Why would they launch deer park?
It's an alpha release. As the whole thing's open source anyway, why bother with closure?
I have converted 2 users from FF to IE
I used to like you dude :sick:Quote:

I think I have converted 2 people directly and maybe a few others by just mentioning it. With 1 person, I was sitting on their computer and while they were in the other room I DLed Fx and installed it and when they came back I told them I had helped them more than they could imagine and I told them which I icon to click from then on out.
Fx is becoming kind of a cult phenomenon like Google. I think google is a little more evil, but they are both still awesome.

FireFox be damned!
You'll never get the respect of my...err...Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

She (or he?) has been around posting for a while, but only comes to CC. She seems to be somewhat of a mystery. I don't think she has ever started a thread either, but I could be wrong.Quote:

OK Rob. Tell us all about why IE is so much better than Fx ;) All the extra spyware you can get from it that you just somehow can't in Firefox. All the hundreds of wonderful little security holes that the Mozilla developers forgot to include. :wave:Quote:

Hmm yeah good idea. I'll try that.
Cheers
That'd be great :) I might make one in the style of Sfx's "Get Firefox" button, so the images ad looks a bit better. Then we can have 3 styles to choose from :)Quote:

Depends on "a lot". Mostly I'm here when my brains haven't booted up or when they've ran out of all energy :) Plus I check topics with replies from UserCP when I have an idle moment.Quote:

Angry mail to the bank would've fixed it. All Finnish banks now support Firefox because of feedback :)
I've had it on my Jump Drive for a while now. I also have a few Fx extensions on there. And SpyBot Search and Destroy and iTunes and any other good software that people generally don't have.Quote:

I thought IE is the cult. It has crashed a lot of systems. I've never heard Firefox to crash a system :D
Never had a problem with Firefox and frankly I just don't trust IE with all of its security problems.
IE 7 Beta 2 is released and apparently (heard from a secuirity tester) it introduces 100s more holes with it. Go MS :DQuote:

They're actually trying to make IE7 better overall, but they might run out of time for all the features. They won't certainly be as goods with the standards as other browsers are at the moment and security is a question mark, even though that was the biggest promise they made when they announced IE7 is in the works. It might be the most important security features are in Vista and won't be available in XP...
I had the idea of adding a Fx download counter to my sig, but all the ones I found that would work, either the links were broken, or they looked like crap. If anyone finds a decent, small, server-side download counter that I can put in my sig, post it :)
That's the problem with M$. They are too interested in PR and money. Users would be quite happy to wait an extra 2 months if it meant IE7 would be much more secure. Look at half-life 2, it was delayed for a year but the gamers didn't mind because it was delayed for the right reasonsQuote:

Awesome, thanks tr333! :thumb: :D
I will try out the Protable Fx on my USB drive then :)
Read a few reviews for IE7 Beta 1, pretty luke warm. Most are quite critical of the security updates as 75% of the security updates either don't work (bearing in mind this is still Beta 1) or they will only apply for the new Windows Vista (formerly Longhorn).
Good old M$, still forcing you to buy their newest product.
:( I havent managed to convert anyone yet :(
But I have it as my sig at another forum :D
I have a 1gig jump drive (USB drive) so I am not worried about space. ;)Quote:

My 30 gig USB drive comes in ten hours ^^
 You wish! I want a USB drive that functions as an independent computer that I can just plug in and run programs and such directly off it. That would be nice. :)
I hate you :(Quote:
