Smoke coming from stations. Suspicious passenger with exploding backpack!
And a bus "incident"
Breaking news!
Doesn't sound so big. An eye vitnes says that guy was carrying the bag when it exploded. And since no one is reported hurt yet. Not even the guy carrying the bag, then it must have been small.
These stations have reported suspicios events:
Warren Street, Oval and Shepherd's Bush.

Nail Bomb reported in the subway
A new vitness says that the guy carrying the bag looked dissapointed after the explosion..:D:D:D:D
The explosions seem to be detonators only.
Entire subway shut down.
Uncorfirmed (Sky news):
Bomb on a buss?
Shooting?
One person is hurt...:)
Well this is weird, is this people playing a warped joke, or someone trying to prove security measures are pointless.
Perhaps they are jihadis with memory problems.
"think,think.what have I forgotten?"
"bag,check"
"detonator,check"
"ticket,check"
"semtex,doh!"
Windows of the bus blown out
Is there any way to build a small bombproof chamber that everyone has to rapidly pass thru before boarding buses, trains, planes?
With the technology to send an em pulse powerful enough to detonate any bombs that the person might happen to be carrying before they get on?
If there was anything remotely usable like that I'd imagine Israel would be using it already.

Seems quite serious...well serious enough to bring Londons infrastructure grinding to a halt again. Nice to see, after 1st reports, that the only person known to be injured was the person actually carrying the "bomb".
Woof
Seems like they were all detonators, designed to scare rather than hurt.
I'm going to guess that this is the work of some twisted sicko copycat who wants his 15 minutes of fame :(
Interesting that the Americans hear about bombs in London before us Brits :D The USA are deporting their terrorists to the UK!!!!

its slow, though, and what are the consequences?
Perp might get arrested.
With a bomber-zapper, the consequences are a bit more severe and permanent.
Plus, it makes a nice boom!
Blair just said that there were 4 explosions.
They allegedly caught a perp in the hospital that others chased out of the subway.
Creating a whole new game:Quote:

. . . and they've left loads and loads of evidence,too :thumb:
Hope its enough evidence to find them.
Just read there were explosives in the bags with the detonators. They must have mixed up a bad batch of explosives or something. Thankfully.
Heard people were coming out covered in white dust - which could be tatp (tri acetone tri peroxide). A favorite of Al Qaeda. But it sounds like the bomb maker screwed up, it's got to be mixed very precisely otherwise it's to hard to set off, or can go off after just a bump. If their gear didn't get blown to bits, which it sounds like it didn't, I'm sure there's a boat load of evidence there. Sure hope so anyway.
Yea, it looks like they failed massivly, and to be honest they are so going to wish they didnt, if they get sent to jail. There life isnt going to be worth living they will be lets say... i'll leave you guys to think about it.
but good news is no seriosu casultys just yet!
Tube train has been evacuated at Stockwell. There is an ongoing incident and shots have been heard.
The Northern Line has been suspended.
Scotland Yard have just confirmed they've shot someone on the Northern Line
Link...we cannot find the link that "confirms" this.
Woof
Armed Police surround Mosque in East London says BBC headline ticker . . .
Who needs the BBC news when we have VBForums? :)
This is so cool, our police PWND some dude. Jumped on him and blew him away. Sounds like something the KGB would have done. Maybe the guy hadn't paid for his train ticket. :D
Anyway its about time our police force grew a pair.
Way to go SO19 :thumb:
Update:
SKYNews: "London police on 'shoot to kill' orders if they believe someone is about to detonate a bomb".
Surely this could set off a bomb itself?
PWND?
Woof
The same guys as last time are claiming to be behind the whole thing again....I guess they are running out of bomb makers these days..:) Next time the bomb will actualy heal people....

... man this bombing stuff is getting bad now. There all freaking sheep...I feel sorry for 'real' muslims who actually listen to their religion. Nowhere in islam does it say go blow your self up and you are good.Quote:
"One of them was carrying a black handgun - it looked like an automatic - they pushed him to the floor, bundled on top of him and unloaded five shots into him."
Another passenger on the train, Anthony Larkin, told BBC News the man had been wearing a "bomb belt with wires coming out".
:angry pino:
I'm going to be glued to BBC.co.uk all afternoon now.
Look you Norwegian muppet...what does PWND actually stand for?
Pull Weapon Now Dead?
Also, you got a link to the people who confessed?
Woof
People keep saying "automatic" handgun. I never realised Scotland Yard had started issuing its officers with Tec 9's.
Although that would be sweet.
*holds machine pistol sideways*

I bet Tony Blair was shaking when they arrested this kid..:D

U've also got Glock 18's
http://remtek.com/arms/glock/model/9/18/
And there are many many more.
What I wanted to know is how a random thought it was an automatic. I know my guns, well a little rusty now, and if someone ran past me with that Glock, I wouldn't be able to tell at a glance it was an automatic.
However, some automatics have a box under the barrel, which is a big give away.
Woof
I might move to the USA just to have a go on one of those G18c's :D
Maybe the eyewitnesses mean semi-auto? I think most people would reCognise a glock even at speed because they are quite distinctive looking anyway. I never even realised you could get full-auto Glocks with the same form-factor as a standard G17.
Our police should definitely get some of those.
I thought that's what they used...Glocks, not the fully auto ones anyways.
And ALL pistols with magazines are semi-auto.
Woof
I know.
What will happen to the body of the dead guy if he turns out to be one of the bombers? Once the feds have finished with it will it be returned to his family or just disposed of? Discuss :)
BOOM! Headshot!!
"Officers" are not necessarily associated with the police, now, are they?Quote:

Pretty obvious stuff, really.
His body will be reconstructed, and then close family will need to identify him either from marks on the body, or from the face (if there's still one left)
What's the temperature in London today?
Early 20C's ish why?Quote:

One story, BBC I think, says he was a "known" suspect, whatever that means.
[edit]I see, he was suspected to be one of the bombers from yesterdays attempts, not a new bomber.[/edit]
Certainly not warm enough to be wearing a coat. Humdity is fairly high, too.Quote:

Yeah it's not the first time. Imagine if we issued guns to all the police. I wonder how often this happens in places where all the police force carry guns.
Still, he was reported to have been asked to stop, and he ran instead. Perhaps enough for suspicion?
I feel for this guys family.
But, IF the reports are correct, and he legged it, jumping barriers and stuff, and then boared a train after being repeatedly told to stop due to armed police then in the current climate then I have to back the polices actions and the use of lethal force I am afraid.
yea, it appears he was an innocent...but surely no-one is THAT stupid to run onto a train giving the impression it's a good possibility that he's a bomber.
If I was in his situation I would be rooted to the sport bricking myself that if I sneeze I'll get shot...I would not turn and leg it.
There are a lot of questions that the investigation will have to answer.
Was he challenged by the police? I was under the impression that because they thought he was a bomber they gave no warnings, to prevent him triggering any bombs.
They saw him leave the house so how come he got as far as entering a train if they thought he was a bomber?
One lesson for commuters, if your late for your train don't run to try and catch it you might get shot.
WOw...the police is really making an effort here now...Notting Hill in Vest-London. Explosions heard...Police has entered a building, and is taking people out of there as we speak..:)
