Start -> Programs -> Accesories -> Command Prompt
that's just a command prompt, not proper Dos thank god
Yeah the days of DOS are gone...Well they will be once Windows 98 and 95 are gone. Win2K has a command prompt emulator, if you will. You cant like restart in MS-DOS mode (well you can but Windows is still running).
Windows 2000 is supposedly all 32-bit. Besides, the command prompt in Windows 2000 acts like it has DOSKEY. Press F7, the up arrow, tab, etc. and cool stuff will happen. :)
BTW, I access the command prompt by typing "cmd" in the Run prompt. I find it faster; I press <Windows>-<R> and "cmd" is already there. :)
You can only boot into a GUI. I think you are referring to the boot option where it asks for a login and then just opens a command prompt instead of a taskbar and everything else.Quote:

This is because NT is security-based; you MUST log in to do ANYTHING. Except for taking the hard drive it out and dropping it five feet onto hard concrete. :)
Can you?? I can't find that option..Quote:

Lol you know my brother said be was able to break into an NTFS drive with a Linux boot disk. He said he could have formatted the drive 2...:D He's learning from the best...)yes i know that wouldnt work if it there was a password on the BIOS and it was set the boot sequence wasnt on the floppy drive before c:\...)
NTFS should only allow access to unknown users by assuming they're a guest.
