What would you like to see in PassProg 2? I can take some jokes as normal, but I would also like some constructive comments as well:

OK, I have two questions.

1) It's shareware, I've always wanted to make a bit of money off programs over the internet, how do you go about selling it, collecting your wedge of money pie?

Actually, due to the inevidable fact that hackers will take it apart (they did to PassProg 1 :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: ), PP2 is postcardware. That means that it is free for personal use, but $10 for use in governmental, corporate, or educational facilities. Simple: people mail me checks (stupid people use cash :D :D), and I give them an official form that has their name and registration code on it, as well as pertenant information (don't distribute this code, make sure you have version 1.0.2 which just came out, etc.)

Oh, as for the cash thing, I have made $100 on both my programs (Tiny Clock and PassProg).

I don't know how the thing works (I absolutely HATE passwords) but the page was nice.

Just download it. The interface (like all my programs, ZDNet thinks :)) is easy to use, and there is a bunch of documentation.

I never get around to finishing anything, Im already on another project which im having a lot of trouble getting my head around, Its mainly the literature thats getting me (its a ASP service that im doing)

I know that *some* ppl like to hassle you :p but here is a serious comment on ur proggie / website. I havent downloaded ur program becos all my passwords are *password* .. hey did i type that or think it? :p

Anyhow, one word of advice on the *marketing* on ur website. In just a quck glance i saw 10 billion warnings about what the program could, under rare circumstances, do to my comp. If this occurrence is as rare as hen's teeth then why do u give so much prominence to it, especially in the page where you are trying to market it. Eg cars occasionally crash but u dont see car ads saying in big type "hey watch out cos this car will blowup under rare circumstances". Put ur protection in *fineprint* or in a policy statement and leave it off the marketing page.

Also, ur prog looks real nice :) Your website needs a little more effort tho to look of a similar standard. All in all a good job :) But i fear u will scare ppl off a good product by being so defensive.

One comment - those programs are tiny, so why the 2mb download for each of them?

One word: dependencies.

I can never get a ZIP file download of my programs to be less than 2 MB. Even Tiny Clock 1.0, which was extraordinarily simple, was about a 2 MB download. :mad:

Make the dependencies available as separate downloads, that'll probably make you more friends :)

But some of the dependencies are WAV files, images, documentation, etc. And there are several OCXs that either I created or are not made by MS, so they won't be on the user's system.
