It would be handy if there was a button or something to preview your signature before it goes live. That way, if you make a balls of it, nobody will see.

I Suggested...didn't happen
It would be easier that way, but what I do is have two browser windows open, one with the user CP and one with a new thread. In the first one, you change your signature, and in the second one, you preview your post.
Ahh. Well now there's two of us !
Three.
Thats what I do, but even still, loading any vbforums page here takes forever with all the ****ing crap that comes with it.
And also, if you're doing some complex stuff you dont want to be refreshing over and over again.
We could also have live checking ;
John could use a piece of js/vbscript to do the preview.
Either that or an applet/ocx.

Uh, dude, unless you are using the VB World look, the pages load in half a second...
Oh wow thats quick ;)
I still think a signature checker would be good tho :)
I'm not making up the speed. It really does load that fast on broadband (cable/DSL/*cough* Work T3 *cough*).
I agree, a spell checker where you can add words to the dictionary would be cool.
Nah I know you're not making it up, I'm using it right now.
And whats this about a dictionary ?
I mean that if the word "vBulletin" isn't in the dictionary for the spell checker, there must be an option to add it (like the "Add" function in Word). Otherwise, the dictionary would be relatively useless. And you'd have to be sure to put your code in [code] tags, otherwise the spell checker would not be very happy. :D
Ahhhhhhhh. I never use the spell checker anyway because my spelling is impeccable ... as is Microsoft Word's ;)
There would be a problem though with that.
Is a common global dictionary used, or a dictionary per user ?
If its a global one, then people could add bad spellings.
If its one per user, thats quite a lot of storage.
I guess you could have one master dictionary for everybody, and each user has their own tiny "exceptions" dictionary.
Good idea.
