The purpose of it would then be what? The usage of it would be completely free from corruption? The results would be useful to whom? Check out how often the star ratings are used on threads. Usually only by the original poster giving themselves a quite unexpected 5 star rating :p or by ppl trying to get their post noticed giving others 1 star etc. Just be happy with your own ability and dont be so much like Lisa Simpson. :p
The benifits of using this feature is that when some company interviewers see information about some top ranking or highly recommended programmer they will make decisions fast.
Also, there's "the Simpsons" in Australia?

Interviewers don't make a decision on someone based on a non-official "rating" posted on a web site. They'll normally interview the person first :D
PS: The Simpsons is everywhere.
