Dave Cutler headed the Windows NT development team, after he had headed the VMS dev team at DEC.
About a year and a half after the beginning of the developing process of NT, someone discovered that WNT is VMS++.
so he asked Dave about that, and his answer was: "wow, It took you too long to find that".Code:V M S

Officially I think it is Next Technology, or New Technology.
If WNT is really VMS++, then I think I will start calling it WNT instead of WinNT. VMS may have been a beast, but it was a nice beast. :)

This is kinda ammusing, cuz when booting Win 2k, it says, "Based on NT technology" :p
Well, internally W2K IDs itself as NT 5.0. Also, Win95 IDs itself as DOS 7, because it isn't an OS, just a GUI running on one, like Win 3.1 on DOS 6 or X on Unix.

Yes, I believe the correct term is ASPs. I call JavaServer Pages JSPs, although some people think it sounds freaky.

On a close tangent, I don't like "ASP Web Page". Not only is it redundant with "page" twice, but what other kind of ASPs can you have? Oh, I'm just being picky.
'Course, I don't like people saying "let me xerox this". But anyway.
Just ASPs. No ASP web pages, no ASP pages, just ASPs.
So why did MS go with the name C#?
With e everything (eMail, eBusiness, et al), I'm surprised they didn't call it E.
Nobody uses C# anyway. It's just a cheap*** version of Java.
