I'm running Windows 2000 SP1 (SP2 screwed up PartitionMagic). It works great for Quake 3, Descent 3, Premiere, Photoshop, ATI TV Wonder, Winamp, and VB. :)

Computer A: Win 2000. MY kick arse gaming machine
Computer B: Win 2000/RedHat Linux. Programming and 3D graphics computer.
Dual boot:
Windows 3.1
Windows XP
One's a little faster than the other....;)
XP boots in 30 seconds for me, provided you change the start menu from the new style to the "classic" view. But then again I guess 3.1 would boot in 15 on a P3-933 with 512 MB of RAM. :D

Windows Me because I'm a retard
"Windows Me because it came with the computer and you can't be arsed to pay £ 200+ for Win2K"....slightly less offensive.
Who said anything about paying? ;) ;) :)
well someone would have to buy at least 1 copy to be able to share it around...
Exactly....Why pay when you can d/l it off the internet?
MS programs are very popular for *cough* distribution *cough*. ;) ;)
okay, I can imagine downloading warez apps such as Flash, Office, stuff like that (hell, I've even done i myself) but downloading an entire OS is madness. It would take forever.
Windows 2000 Advanced Server (FWIW) SP2
I know someone *cough* who downloaded Windows XP without paying the $10 :D. It took 16 hours on cable at a mind-numbing 10 KB/sec. :eek:Quote:

cable was only getting 10Kb/second!?! That sucks! Tell him to swap cable company!
The cable was fine, the download server sucked.
pen and paper, can't beat it.
More stable than the Linux kernel except when exposed to moisture and fire. :)
I would like to use win98, but i'm stuck on linux for now
I believe I've stumbled across an ISO copy of WinXP RC2.

Ah, Mr. :) knows all once again! :D
dos is good, there's some stuff with fileops you'll never get done in windows
anyways
[boot loader]
timeout=2
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows Whistler Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows 98"
Well, I know someone who downloaded XP RC2 with "his" aDSL at 100KB/s...Quote:

Tried to download Office XP as well, but was taking too long...
Well, I know someone who downloaded an OS with "his" cable modem at 528 KB/s, so there! :p
I download win2k pro and win2k advanced server...
But at this timer, I am using win 98 because I dont have the hardware requirements that win2k advanced server needs.
I also tried win2k pro but it was slower than win98 on 64 MB so I switched back to windows 98 :p
as if that was something to talk about :pQuote:

Any way I am fed up with windows 98 now
Go with Windows 2000. Only ancient DOS games don't work with it.
im using win 98se and mandrake duel boot
werks great fer me!
Mandrake is easy to use but it uses KDE, which sucks ***. It is the ONLY part of Linux that crashes ALL the time. Use Gnome instead, or good ol' X-Windowsless mode (console only).
BTW, a pet peeve. Duel is when you fight someone. Dual is double of something.
WINDOWS XP SUCKS!!!!!!!!Quote:
