not bad, but no-where near as good as the books.
I dont think its going to be, but its worth a look anyway.
is it a new series or are they re showing the old 70's series ?
I believe its a new series.
But im not sure.
Either way I wouldnt miss it for the world.
I remember when I read the Dune series of novels, and then saw the movie. God it was awful, but I still appreciated it like.
And I saw the remake of the movie. 3 x ~95minute videos.
Really kicks ass. They changed the story in parts a little ... but in a good way. Makes it more enjoyable.
Just looked at the beeb's web site and it is the old 70's series. it is quite good, has all the regulars in it Zaphod etc... but it doesn't hold too true to the books much though :)
It's based on the original radio series rather than the books (which were also based on the radio series).
It's a shame Douglas Adams had to die before the BBC got around to showing these again. :(
Duncan - according to the beeb, that's why theyre re-showing them, as a tribute to him.

Yeah, I guess that accounts for the timing.
Is it as funny as the "trilogy" ?
sorry if i'm taking this in the wrong context, but there was 4 books
(5 if you include mostly harmless, With arthur dent's daughter)
HHGTTG
So long and thanks for all the fish
Life, the Universe and Everything
The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
:)
Yeah but ya know the hardback version ;
Code:The HitchHiker's Guide to The Galaxy
A trilogy in 5 parts
Well..... no, I don't think so. That doesn't mean it wasn't very funny, though, just not as funny.Quote:

Zaphod's second head looks really bad and Trillian is played by the hopelessly squeaky Sandra Dickinson (despite being English and squeak-free in the books), but apart from that I really enjoyed it.
Mind you, it was a hell of a long time ago and I was more easily amused in those days. Hell, I used to be entertained by Blake's 7.
Incidentally, I had to mess about with the name Dickinson on this post because the anti-swearing software asterisked it out.
