ambiguous name detected: ~

hello people:

every time i add mscomctl.ocx to my program i get the error:
ambiguous name detected: ~
and it doesn't allow me to add the ocx file.

that is very annoying, cause at work it works fine.

at work i have: windows 2000 spanish (no service pack)
vb 6.0 sp5

at home i have: windows 2000 english (sp2)
vb6.0 sp5

any ideas???

at home it gives me that error
i reinstalled vb6 + sp5
i reisntalled w2000

i dont want to format mi PC!!!

I had a similar problem. I ran scanreg and it set my computer back a couple days and everything worked fine.

where do i get scanreg???

start menu: run. type scanreg. If its not there try microsoft.

any other ideas???
