Why do people demand me to use Whatsapp ?

Between Messager and Whatsapp, there is no differences in safety ans use ?
So , some people just demand whatsapp because they like it....I guess
I hardly ever used Messager, but with whatsapp it’s easy to create groups, share (one timej media, create polls, share documents. And everything is encrypted
What I found, Messager is not End to End encrypted

No has a reason
With my old cell with WiFi connection, I can connect to FB / Messager...no SIM card
but
With Whatsapp, one must need a SIM, so...they can see my my cell number ?
My current theory
With Messager you mean the message function of Facebook?
I thought you were using iMessage on the iPhone..
I’ve never used the message tool of Facebook and also stopped using FB at least 6 years ago
