Band Aid song for 1985 Live Aid Concert
In 1984 the song "Do they know it's Christmas?" was recorded by Band Aid to raise funds for Ethiopia. This song was written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure (the organizers and participants of the 1985 Live Aid Concert) and it was produced by Trevor Horn. It released on 25 November 1984. However, a note was written on November 28, 1984, two days after the completion of mixing the record on November 26, 1984.
The Live Aid concert of 1985 was held about 7 months after the song was recorded and released, but the note was included in the video of the concert:
"Dear Bob and Midge, it's 8.00am on the 28th November 1984 just 48 short hours after you'd finished mixing the record. The video is complete and ready for TV sets all over the world"
At the bottom of the note it is written: ""Nigel, Dave and Rob"
Does anyone maybe know who that was?
Ps. "Rob" may have been Rob Wright but I am not sure...

This site seems able to answer ANY question.

I actually remember watching the concert with my family. Doubt you'll get many worldwide shared experiences anymore.

Live aid = Queen.
Also this is interesting:
"An investigation by the BBC has found just 5 per cent of the money raised by Live Aid and Band Aid actually made it to the victims of famine in Ethiopia. Instead, the millions of dollars of international aid intended to buy food for starving Ethiopians was used by rebel groups to buy weapons"

Raising money is easier than ensuring that it does some good.

Well... yes I agree Bohemian Bohemian Rhapsody was a highlight BUT....... did you see Bob Geldof sing "I don't like Mondays"? :)
And to think Brenda Ann Spencer is to this day still in prison. In those days I suppose incidents like that was unheard of. Now it is happening much too often.

I always thought Status Quo opening with "Rocking All Over The World" was a particularly apt highlight.
