ActiveX control and Component???

Hi,

I am confused, is ActiveX control and Component the same thing????
I mean is ActiveX control same as ActiveX Component?
i am developing ActiveX control now and i need to distribute it on web for user to access so DO i need to Sign it and get a Cert...???

They are kind of the same. However ActiveX control has interface, while ActiveX component does not have an interface.
